Tauck Introduces New Rail Tours with Rocky Mountaineer

Tour operator Tauck and luxury rail company Rocky Mountaineer are expanding their partnership to introduce two new trips in North America.

The journeys, “Salt Lake City to Denver by Rocky Mountaineer” and “The Best of Western Canada & Rocky Mountaineer,” each include two days of rail travel. Tauck and Rocky Mountaineer have an existing partnership on their “Vancouver & the Rockies by Rocky Mountaineer” tour.

Tauck says the new itineraries will “pair the ease, relaxation and romance of rail travel – including incredible panoramic views of scenic alpine landscapes – with the comfort and amenities provided by full-service hotel accommodations along the way.”

“Salt Lake City to Denver by Rocky Mountaineer” is an eight-day tour starting with two nights at Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, then two nights in Moab, Utah. On day 5, guests board the train to Glenwood Springs, Colorado to spend a night there, then ride the railway to Denver, where they’ll stay at a Four Seasons hotel. The journey includes sightseeing in the cities, walking through nature trail at national parks, and a choice between gentle whitewater rafting on the Colorado River or a 4×4 off-road tour.

“The Best of Western Canada & Rocky Mountaineer” is a 10-day trip that begins with a three-night stay at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. During the tour, guests will experience a float trip on the Bow River, afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Hotel, a sightseeing drive along the Icefields Parkway, and an Ice Explorer trip atop the Athabasca Glacier.

On day 4, guests board the train to Vancouver, where they’ll stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The next day, they’ll take a flightseeing trip to their next destination, Vancouver Island at The Fairmont Empress, where they’ll spend two nights. This two-day excursion will include a private whale watching cruise. Guests will then return to The Fairmont Empress and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler to end their journey.

Tauck offers more than 150 land tours, safaris, river cruises, and small ship ocean cruises in over 70 countries around the world.
