Jamaica’s beauty and warmth of welcome have made it a favourite destination for Canadians.

The Jamaica Tourist Board has officially joined Virtuoso, the world’s leading network of luxury travel agencies, in a strategic move that signals the island’s deepening commitment to the high-end travel segment. The partnership, announced in April, grants Jamaica access to Virtuoso’s global network of more than 2,300 elite travel providers across 100 countries, including top-tier hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, and destination marketing organizations.

Inclusion in the Virtuoso portfolio is no small feat. “The network’s acceptance process is incredibly selective, so becoming a preferred partner is a true honor,” said the Honorable Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism. “The reputation Virtuoso member agencies have for outstanding dedication to their clients is a perfect fit with our own bespoke approach to service.”

Virtuoso agencies collectively sell more than $35 billion in travel annually, and the new partnership gives the JTB unprecedented access to this powerful channel. With this alignment, the JTB will now have the opportunity to connect directly with some of the world’s most influential leisure travel advisors and their discerning clientele across North and Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.

According to Jamaica’s Deputy Director of Tourism, Philip Rose, the affiliation with Virtuoso enhances Jamaica’s ability to showcase the destination’s elevated offerings. “This partnership ensures that Jamaica is recognized for its diverse and exciting opportunities, solidifying its position as a leading Caribbean destination for travelers seeking an elevated getaway,” said Rose.

Virtuoso, for its part, sees the move as a natural evolution for a destination that’s long been beloved by travelers but increasingly caters to luxury tastes. “Welcoming the Jamaica Tourist Board into the Virtuoso network is a powerful statement of the destination’s commitment to the luxury sector,” said Virtuoso’s Director of Alliances, Javier Guillermo. “Jamaica is not only enhancing its positioning within our global community but also setting a new standard for what Caribbean luxury can look like.”

The JTB will now be able to participate in Virtuoso’s signature marketing programs and events, including Virtuoso Travel Week, allowing the board to highlight exclusive amenities and immersive experiences tailored to high-value travelers.

As Jamaica continues to rack up awards for excellence in hospitality, culture, and culinary tourism, this new alignment with Virtuoso positions the island to compete even more confidently on the world’s luxury travel stage.
