Azamara Club Cruises is expanding its fleet by 50% with the addition of a new vessel, a sister ship to Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, set to be delivered in March 2018.

The ship, which will be called Azamara Pursuit, will be similar in size to Quest and Journey, both of which have a capacity around 700 passengers.

Because of their sizes, all three of Azamara’s ships will be able “to sail into smaller ports bigger ships cannot, including most recently Cuba,” Azamara director of sales and service development Nils Lindstad told TMR.

Aside from the ships’ sizes, Lindstad said that the new ship will carry on Azamara’s dedication to destinations.

“Azamara your clients will appreciate spending more time in port as 100 percent of our itineraries will have either a late night stay until 8 p.m. or later or an overnight stay,” Lindstad told TMR.

“This truly allows your clients to get immersed in the fabulous ports of call we sail too. Because of our size we are able to sail into smaller ports bigger ships cannot, including most recently Cuba,” Lindstad said.

Pursuit will be built with décor that matches “the brand’s upmarket position,” similar to what Azamara did with its renovations of Journey and Quest when both ships received facelifts to public spaces last year.
