PONANT EXPLORATIONS wants to give time-starved travelers the chance to experience its French luxury-style cruising with two new short-format Mediterranean itineraries for fall 2025.
Launching in November of this year, these five-night itineraries onboard Le Laperouse showcase the Mediterranean during its low season.
“These new Mediterranean sailings are ideal for our guests seeking a shorter, more immersive escape at a time when the region reveals its most authentic charm,” said Samuel Chamberlain, CEO of PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP, Americas. “With just five nights, smaller crowds, and culturally rich itineraries, they offer the perfect blend of convenience, discovery, and comfort – whether you’re a first-time guest looking to explore with ease, or a seasoned traveler wanting to revisit iconic destinations in a more intimate setting.”
The onshore experience is further enhanced by onboard lectures delivered by expert speakers with profound knowledge of each region.
The two itineraries are:
Italian Escape: Valletta to Naples, departing Nov. 17, 2025. Ports of call include the historic Syracuse, Catania with the spectacular Greek theater of Taormina and Mount Etna as its backdrop, and Salerno, home to the archaeological treasures of Pompeii.
Mediterranean Interlude: Naples to Valletta, departing Nov. 22, 2025. Highlights include Naples’ Baroque splendor beneath Mount Vesuvius, Palermo’s 12th-century cathedral and Teatro Massimo, medieval Trapani’s panoramic views, Tunisia’s ancient Carthage ruins, and Sicily’s Greek temples of Agrigento in Porto Empedocle.
With no overlapping port calls, cruisers can also choose to combine the two for a 10-day voyage. All voyages include one complimentary shore excursion per person at each port.
