Seabourn is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2028 with one of its most ambitious deployment plans yet. Dubbed “The Ruby Collection,” the program spans 54 voyages across the line’s five-ship ocean and expedition fleet, combining milestone sailings with new itineraries, first-time ports, and anniversary programming throughout the year.
The collection ranges from seven-day Caribbean and Mediterranean sailings to headline-grabbing expeditions, including the 120-day Cape to Cape World Cruise aboard Seabourn Quest and the line’s second “Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole,” a 96-day voyage from the High Arctic to Antarctica aboard Seabourn Venture. Both itineraries are designed to showcase the small-ship line’s strengths, pairing remote destinations with extended expedition programming. All Ruby Collection voyages are now open for booking.
The anniversary season also introduces a number of new destinations and experiences: in Asia, Seabourn Encore will add maiden calls to Taichung and Tainan, Taiwan, with one sailing timed to coincide with the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival. Alaska itineraries will debut visits to Petersburg, Valdez, and the Chiswell Islands, alongside a new eight-day pre-cruise Denali program. Expedition guests will also find first-time calls to Tvøroyri in the Faroe Islands and Cape Clear Island, Ireland, while Canada and New England sailings include Seabourn’s return to the historic Basque whaling settlement of Red Bay, Labrador.
The line is also leaning into its heritage with a new Yachtsman Collection, inspired by Seabourn’s original 1988 concept of intimate ships accessing ports beyond the reach of larger vessels. These Caribbean and Mediterranean itineraries focus on smaller harbors, overnight stays, and signature experiences such as Caviar in the Surf, Marina Day, and Shopping with the Chef excursions.
“Our own journey began in 1988 when we redefined cruising with the world’s first fleet of luxury small ships, designed to feel like private yachts,” said Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn. “As we celebrate 40 years of exploration, that same pioneering spirit shapes The Ruby Collection, featuring voyages across our ocean and expedition fleet that reflect where we began while pushing further into the places and experiences that define what exploration means with Seabourn.”
