The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection officially welcomed its newest super yacht, Luminara, to the fleet with a naming celebration led by godmother, actress Simone Ashley of “Bridgerton” and “Sex Education” fame.
The celebration, which took place in Barcelona, also brought together senior leadership from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Marriott International, along with luxury brand collaborators, media, and global tastemakers across fashion, design, culinary, and travel.
“This magnificent new yacht brings together inspired design, world-class cuisine, and enriching itineraries — all in a setting that invites meaningful connection and discovery,” said Ernesto Fara, president of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
In keeping with maritime tradition, Ashley shared a dedication for the voyages ahead, then led a toast that signaled the ceremonial breaking of a bottle of Champagne across the mast as the yacht’s horn sounded, marking the beginning of Luminara’s journey.
Spanning 794 feet (242 meters) and accommodating up to 452 guests, Luminara features 226 ocean-view suites, including a new Residential Suite category. Onboard highlights include a dedicated wine vault, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, and the line’s signature marina.
Luminara embarks on its maiden voyage on July 3, sailing a seven-night voyage from Monte Carlo to Rome. After its Mediterranean season, the yacht will sail through Africa and the Indian Ocean before beginning its inaugural season in the Asia-Pacific region in December 2025, followed by the company’s first voyages to Alaska and Canada in summer 2026.
