For decades, Aman has cultivated an aura of retreat—places where architecture recedes into the landscape and privacy becomes the ultimate luxury. In spring 2026, the brand will bring that philosophy to Mexico for the first time with Amanvari, a new outpost on Baja California’s East Cape.
Set within the 1,500-acre Costa Palmas development, the resort will be part of a master-planned community that already includes the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos, a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course, and a private yacht marina. Amanvari’s position here is deliberate: It’s close enough to Los Cabos for international access, yet far enough east to feel worlds removed from the tourist corridor.
The scale is restrained by design. Just 18 freestanding casitas, each with views of the Sea of Cortés, desert mountains, and estuary, will anchor the resort. The accommodations are elevated to maximize outlooks and linked to the terrain with courtyards, floor-to-ceiling glass, and natural palettes of stone, hardwoods, and white concrete. Artisans from across Mexico are contributing ceramics and original works, grounding the interiors in local culture.
Alongside the resort sits a collection of branded Aman Residences, designed as full-time or part-time homes with private pools, courtyards, and service from the Aman Private Office. Owners will also be able to take advantage of Costa Palmas’ broader offerings, including its organic orchards, three miles of swimmable beach, and a deep-water marina.
Food and wellness will follow Aman’s global playbook, but tuned to Baja. Dining will span Italian, Japanese, and locally inspired menus, while the Aman Spa will introduce a contemporary version of the traditional temazcal sweat lodge, alongside signature Spa Houses and an open-air yoga pavilion. With direct access to sailing, snorkeling, and hiking, Amanvari is shaping up as both a retreat and a launchpad for exploration of the East Cape.
The project highlights Aman’s steady growth in the Americas and Caribbean, where it now operates multiple properties, including those currently under development in Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, and the Bahamas. On the East Cape, Amanvari will enter a market increasingly defined by high-profile luxury entrants, yet it is betting on privacy, architecture, and a sense of place to set it apart.
