Hotel Vernet: The Finest of French Hospitality with a Touch of Gustave Eiffel’s Genius

Some hotels linger in memory long after the stay is over—not merely for their service or location, but for how they make us feel. They captivate with subtle, refined details that leave a lasting emotional impression. These rare gems are why choosing the right hotel can transform a trip into an experience.

In a city as sophisticated as Paris, the hotel selection is vast. But Hotel Vernet stands apart. Here’s why.

Design and Ingenuity

When Gustave Eiffel designed the Eiffel Tower, now Paris’s most iconic landmark, he faced significant backlash. Yet his vision for the City of Light was determined. Time proved him right—the Eiffel Tower became a symbol of brilliance and beauty in architecture.

That same visionary was involed at Hotel Vernet. Eiffel himself contributed to the design of the property, and several of his original elements remain intact today. In an era of cookie-cutter luxury, the presence of Eiffel’s hand adds something priceless—mythical, almost, to the establishment.

His work is visible in the hotel’s main dining room, beneath a breathtaking glass roof that was hand-painted and assembled nearly a century ago. The original elevator shaft, still preserved within the main staircase, offers guests a journey through time with every ride to their room.

Hotel Vernet seamlessly weaves history and contemporary luxury into a singular experience. From fresh flowers on every floor to bronze room numbers displayed like sculptures, from staff who remember your name—and your coffee order—to the tucked-away library where breakfast is offered to jet-lagged travelers, attention to detail is everywhere. And for the well-traveled, it does not go unnoticed.

Residential-Style Luxury Rooms

In Paris, the average hotel room measures just 15 square meters (161 sq foot), and 20 square meters (215 sq foot) is considered spacious. Hotel Vernet does things differently. Even its smallest room category—the Superior Room—offers 20 square meters of living space, while the majority of rooms range from 40 to 55 square meters (535 sq foot).

That means than more than half of the hotel’s inventory consists of Deluxe, Prestige, and Executive Rooms and Suites—many of which feature bathtubs, a rare indulgence in Paris. Each space feels more like a stylish pied-à-terre than a typical hotel room, offering up to 485 square feet of subtle luxury.

The copper full-size room numbers brings another touch of luxury.

The Prestige Suite, which can accommodate up to four guests, features a private terrace, a separate living area with a pull-out sofa, a traditional salle d’eau, and a spacious bathroom with a soaking tub, rain shower, double sinks, and generous closet space. The décor is a rich blend of vibrant tones, warm woods, polished copper, and refined finishes. It feels less like a hotel and more like staying in the home of someone with impeccable taste. La grande classe, quoi!

An Unbeatable Location

Paris is best explored on foot, and Hotel Vernet’s location—just one block from the Champs-Élysées and a few from the Arc de Triomphe—puts guests at the epicenter of the action. Yet, it’s tucked away on a quiet side street, offering a rare combination of centrality and serenity.

After a custom breakfast—prepared to your preference and enjoy under Eiffel’s sunlit glass roof – step outside and wander toward the Champs-Élysées. From the Louis Vuitton flagship to Guerlain’s historic perfume shop, the city’s most glamorous avenue is just minutes away, and it is indeed, very convenient.

Elevated Food and Beverage

As expected from such a prestigious address, the food and beverage offer delivers both quality and consistency. At Restaurant V, Chef Baldassare Mazzara reimagines the bold Sicilian flavors of his childhood, infusing the menu with gourmet creativity that delights both the eye and the palate. Guests can expect white-glove service, white tablecloths, and impeccably presented plates—all in one of the most distinguished dining rooms.

Lobby Lounge.

The hotel’s bar—offering champagne by the glass and expertly crafted cocktails—is set beneath a ceiling artwork by artist Jean-Michel Alberola. The atmosphere feels more like an elegant private residence than a commercial space, with modern lighting, curated art, and an inviting ambiance.

Breakfast can be enjoyed in the restaurant, the cozy lounge, or in the privacy of your room. And if you wake up late due to jet lag, not to worry—at Hotel Vernet, “no” is rarely part of the vocabulary.
