French luxury house Baccarat has appointed Neil Jacobs as censor of its board of directors, a move aligned with its growing ambitions in the hospitality and lifestyle sphere.
Jacobs arrives boasting more than 13 years at the helm of Six Senses, where he steered the brand into high-end wellness and sustainable hospitality terrain. After leaving Six Senses, he founded consultancy firm Wild Origins in 2025, specializing in hospitality, wellness, and sustainable development.
In announcing the appointment, Baccarat chairman Bryant Stone described Jacobs’ “international expertise and commitment to responsible hospitality” as “major assets in supporting Baccarat’s development in this sector.” The brand’s CEO, Laurence Nicolas, added that Jacobs’ arrival “marks a decisive step in Baccarat’s expansion strategy within the hospitality universe… true to its heritage… offering through its experiences the very best of the French art de vivre.”
Baccarat’s hospitality roadmap is ambitious. Since launching its first hotel and residences in New York in 2015 under license with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the brand plans to open in Rome, Florence, Dubai, the Maldives, Miami, and Macao over the next three years. Its culinary imprint is growing too—recent stand-outs include Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic in Hong Kong and Ducasse Baccarat in Paris.
With Jacobs’ appointment, Baccarat is sharpening its vision for a hospitality portfolio that blends craftsmanship, design, and wellness at a global scale. His influence on the board is expected to shape how the Maison translates its storied artistry into lived experiences across hotels, restaurants, and residences.
