Tripadvisor has released its 2025 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Restaurants, and this year’s lists widen the frame with new categories for the platform’s 25th anniversary. Alongside the established rankings of fine dining and hidden gems are new designations for the best restaurants of the past quarter-century and one-of-a-kind dining experiences.

In Fine Dining, Buenos Aires’ Fogón Asado was named best in the world, while Charleston’s Revival claimed the top U.S. spot and ranked seventh globally. Revival’s rise from fourth place last year indicates the American South’s growing appeal as a food destination for international travelers. Brazil also had a strong showing, with three restaurants landing in the global top 10.

Hidden Gems leaned into authenticity and value, with Indian Kitchen By R&R in Prague taking the world title and Nashville’s 1 Kitchen named best in the U.S. For travelers seeking to go beyond marquee reservations, these lists point toward local flavors and neighborhood dining that can be just as memorable.

Two new categories reflect the evolution of the dining experience. The Pet-Friendly award, created in collaboration with CESAR Canine Cuisine, recognized Bistro André in Valence, France, and CRAFT Key Biscayne in Florida as top destinations—an acknowledgment that traveling with pets is increasingly extending to the dining table. The One-of-a-Kind category was crowned by Nest in Queenstown, New Zealand, where panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu define the experience as much as the menu.

Tripadvisor also honored restaurants with staying power. Bodegas Mezquita Céspedes in Córdoba, Spain, was named best of the last 25 years, a nod to consistency and heritage that appeals to travelers seeking depth as much as novelty.

For luxury travelers, the results do more than provide a dining short list. They highlight destinations where food has become central to the travel experience, from Buenos Aires and Charleston to Prague and Queenstown. They also show how expectations are shifting—toward experiences that balance quality with setting, atmosphere, and cultural connection.
