Hotel Hassler, Still a Roman Holiday Par Excellence

Named among Forbes’ top 42 hotels, the iconic five-star Hotel Hassler Roma, set above the Spanish Steps marks its 125th anniversary with a reopening to unveil its latest renovation. Refreshed public spaces include the entrance and lobby, the Presidential Suite San Pietro and the Salone Eva and Sala Vietri.

Owned by President and General Manager Roberto E. Wirth, fifth generation of a Swiss hotelier dynasty, the Hassler has been the lodging of choice for the world’s discerning travelers since 1893, having played host to everyone from Charlie Chaplin to George Clooney. The hotel acted as Eisenhower’s HQ during the war, the place that Audrey Hepburn called home while filming Roman Holiday, and the honeymoon spot for Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier. Says Wirth, “We have invested a lot over the past few years and we keep investing: the goal is to be at the forefront not only in terms of comfort but also in terms of technology.”
