United Airlines has officially opened the largest airline club in the Americas at Houston Intercontinental’s Terminal B.

The 54,000-square-foot club, located on the mezzanine level of the newly unveiled Terminal B North Concourse, serves as the crown jewel of United’s investment at the airport, an investment that United CEO Scott Kirby says will set a “new standard for facilities across the country.”

The sprawling new concourse spans three levels, features 22 mainline gates equipped entirely with jet bridges, and clocks in at a massive 765,000 square feet. That size makes it larger than most major sports stadiums, and roughly the size of the main passenger terminals at LaGuardia’s rebuilt Terminal B.

Designed to elevate the premium passenger journey from curb to cabin, the record-breaking lounge accommodates up to 800 guests and features an1,350-square-foot outdoor terrace with panoramic airfield views, two full-service bars, private phone rooms, and a curated art collection celebrating Texas creators.

The new Terminal B replaces the legacy facilities that were originally built in 1969, the same year of the first moon landing. Beyond the mainline gates, the broader $2.6 billion transformation program includes critical backend and airfield upgrades designed to eliminate bottlenecks.

The South Concourse has been reconfigured with 26 gates to accommodate larger, two-class regional aircraft with added jet bridge access, bringing the total gate count for Terminal B to 48.

It also includes a state-of-the-art baggage handling system featuring advanced tracking technology that has been integrated to keep pace with the terminal’s expanded capacity, along with expanded curbside space, a ground-level check-in area, and a dedicated traffic bypass connecting Terminals B and A.

Houston as United’s Gateway to Latin America

For United, the new terminal will serve as the preeminent gateway to Latin America.

United currently serves 65 international destinations out of George Bush, 57 of which are in Latin America and the Caribbean, giving the carrier more reach into the region than any other hub in its network.

The new Terminal B infrastructure provides the flexibility needed to support aggressive international growth, including upcoming service to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico, and the historic introduction of the first-ever U.S. nonstop flights between Houston and Cartagena, Colombia, alongside service to Caracas, Venezuela. Additional routes, such as the planned spring restart to Chihuahua, are also on their way.
