Crystal Cruises is not yet announcing any changes to scheduled itineraries because of ongoing attacks in the Red Sea.

Crystal Cruises, which is a few months away from transiting the Red Sea on Crystal Serenity’s World Cruise, said on Monday that its team is monitoring the situation and creating alternate itineraries, but has not committed to any changes on any itinerary just yet.

“In light of the current situation in the Red Sea, Crystal remains committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of our guests and crew. We understand the evolving dynamics and are actively monitoring the situation, maintaining open communication with relevant authorities and security firms to make informed decisions,” Crystal said on Monday.

“Our team is diligently working to create alternate itineraries, recognizing the potential need to make adjustments should the need arise to cancel voyages that transit the Red Sea.”

Other cruise lines, including MSC Cruises and Silversea, have changed or canceled voyages in the Red Sea to avoid ongoing Houthi attacks on merchant vessels in the area.

Crystal said that, once a decision is made, all guests will be notified immediately and alternative plans, including getting visas for a different destination or adjusting ship provisions, will be undertaken. Crystal said that it will do everything it can to prevent “any cascading effects on our operational systems.”

Crystal said that, changes or not, Crystal Serenity will be able to reach Miami by June 8, 2024.
