National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has released its final 2028–29 voyage lineup, adding a new 15-day Costa Rica and Panama itinerary, longer Galápagos options, and land-and-sea journeys combining Peru with the Ecuadorian archipelago.
The announcement completes a rollout that began in August. For advisors planning ahead, the additions offer more trip-length options and opportunities to combine destinations in a single itinerary.
“Every destination has its own rhythm, and our job is to design the voyage in concert with it,” said Trey Byus, chief expedition officer of Lindblad Expeditions. “We’re constantly looking for ways to give guests more depth, more access and more opportunities to explore actively.”
In the Galápagos, eight itineraries range from seven to 17 days across four ships: National Geographic Endeavour II, National Geographic Islander II, National Geographic Gemini and National Geographic Delfina. Packaged back-to-back sailings give travelers more time to explore different islands and ecosystems.
For 2029, the Peru and Galápagos Escape itinerary combines Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu with a Galápagos expedition. Historians and local guides lead the Peru portion, followed by wildlife excursions and snorkeling with naturalists in the islands.
The new 15-day Costa Rica and Panama journey connects Costa Rica’s Pacific wilderness and Guanacaste highlands with Panama’s rainforests, Pearl Islands, and Canal. An expanded eight-day Guanacaste itinerary is also part of the lineup. Activities include Zodiac outings, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, and walks, with National Geographic Venture offering access to Barro Colorado Island and additional time on Gatún Lake.
Amazon departures aboard Delfin II and Delfin III run from November 2028 through October 2029. The Upper Amazon: A River Expedition explores Peru’s Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve by skiff, kayak, and on foot, with visits to Ribereño communities that offer insight into locally led initiatives supported through Minga Peru.
Baja California options aboard National Geographic Quest include Gulf of California exploration, seasonal gray whale encounters, and a holiday itinerary.
In Egypt, Passage Through Egypt Aboard Oberoi Philae combines Cairo and Abu Simbel with a Nile sailing aboard the 44-guest vessel. Egyptologists and Certified Photo Instructors accompany the journey, which includes the Pyramids and Sphinx, as well as Saqqara, Dendera, and Kom Ombo.
