Regent Seven Seas Cruises has reached a key construction milestone for Seven Seas Prestige, the line’s first new ship class in a decade, following its float-out at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard on November 27. The vessel is on track to debut in December 2026 as the seventh ship in Regent’s fleet and the first of three confirmed Prestige-class ships arriving through 2033.
The ceremony marked the transition from dry dock to outfitting, a shift that moves the 77,000-ton ship into its final construction phase. Fincantieri’s Brunetta Casara served as Madrina, conducting the traditional Champagne blessing before the dock was flooded. Representatives from both companies attended, including Marco Spiga, senior director and project manager for Regent, who thanked the shipyard team for its role in reaching this stage.
“Seven Seas Prestige touching water for the first time marks an extraordinary moment for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, representing the culmination of years of planning and collaboration with our long-standing partners at Fincantieri,” said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “The overwhelming response to this vessel affirms that discerning travelers recognize something truly exceptional is on the horizon; emphasized by the ship’s launch day, which became our biggest single booking day for a new ship in our history. From the unprecedented Skyview Regent Suite to every thoughtfully designed detail, Seven Seas Prestige embodies our dedication to redefining ultra-luxury travel.”
Now berthed at the outfitting pier, Seven Seas Prestige will receive its full interiors, including the 12-suite-category lineup that introduces four new accommodation types. Among them is the Skyview Regent Suite, described by the company as the largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite ever built. Additional new categories include the two-level Skyview Suites with private terrace decks, Grand Loft Suites with double-height spaces, and Horizon Penthouse Suites with extended outdoor living areas.
Public spaces currently being installed include the Starlight Atrium and Galileo’s Bar, alongside seven specialty restaurants and a total of 11 dining venues. Azure, a mezze-style Mediterranean concept, will join the lineup as an entirely new offering for the brand.
Once complete, the ship will accommodate 822 guests and be served by 630 crew, maintaining one of the industry’s highest space-to-guest ratios. Despite being 40 percent larger than Regent’s prior ships, Seven Seas Prestige carries only 10 percent more guests.
The inaugural season will feature 13 itineraries across Europe and the Caribbean, including two transatlantic crossings and calls in destinations such as London, Lisbon, Bordeaux, and Harvest Caye, Belize. Construction will continue through 2026, with delivery scheduled for late that year.
