Angie Licea, President of Global Travel Collection (GTC), is stepping away from her role following more than six years leading the luxury travel network, Internova Travel Group announced today.

GTC and Internova will now look for a candidate to replace Licea, a 40-year travel industry veteran who has spent over a decade with Internova and Travel Leaders Group. Licea will remain with the parent company during the leadership transition while exploring future opportunities within the organization.

Since GTC’s launch in 2020, Licea guided the organization to become a $2.4 billion luxury travel powerhouse. Under her leadership, legacy travel brands—including Protravel International, Tzell Travel Group, and ALTOUR Leisure and Entertainment—were unified under the single GTC umbrella, expanding scale while preserving the independent, entrepreneurial spirit of its luxury travel advisors.

In a letter to members on Wednesday, Licea wrote that what she’ll remember most about her time leading GTC is the people.

“I’ll remember the conversations, the challenges we worked through, the ideas that started with someone asking, “What if we did this differently?” and all the moments, big and small, when I watched people across the GTC community step up for one another,” she said.

“One of the things that has always mattered most to me is that as we grew and evolved, we didn’t lose what made these businesses special in the first place. The entrepreneurial spirit. The relationships. The independence of our advisors. The willingness to work hard, take care of clients and take care of each other. That is GTC, and I hope you’re as proud of it as I am.”
