The U.S. Travel Association has appointed Ntina K. Cooper as senior vice president of operations, bringing a federal operations leader into a role that oversees the organization’s core internal functions.
Cooper joins the Washington, D.C.-based industry group after a long tenure at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, where she most recently served as executive assistant commissioner for enterprise services. In that role, she led a nationwide organization of more than 4,000 employees across procurement, human capital, IT, and facilities.
At the association, Cooper will oversee finance, human resources, information technology, and legal, while sitting on the executive leadership team. The position is structured to centralize and align internal operations as the organization continues to scale its advocacy and industry programming work.
“Ntina knows how to drive results in complex environments,” said CEO Geoff Freeman. “She has led at scale inside one of the federal government’s most demanding agencies, and she brings the discipline and leadership we need to align our operations with where this organization is headed.”
The hire comes as U.S. Travel manages a broader, more complex footprint. The organization represents a $1.3 trillion industry and works across policy, research, and member engagement, with a mandate that has expanded in recent years alongside post-pandemic recovery efforts and ongoing federal coordination around travel infrastructure and entry processes.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of an organization focused on strengthening the travel industry and to support its next phase of growth,” Cooper said.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from DePaul University.
