Virtuoso has appointed former Carnival Cruise Line executive Kara Glamore as its general manager for Australia and New Zealand, succeeding Greg Treasure, who is retiring after more than two years leading the luxury travel network’s regional operations.

Based in Sydney, Glamore will oversee Virtuoso’s strategic, financial, and operational activities across Australia and New Zealand, one of the network’s most important global markets. The region currently includes 61 Virtuoso member agencies, approximately 1,600 travel advisors, and a growing portfolio of preferred travel partners.

Virtuoso continues to expand its presence in the market, which plays an outsized role in luxury travel: Australian and New Zealand travelers consistently rank among the world’s highest spenders on premium and experiential travel, often taking longer trips and venturing farther from home than travelers from many other source markets. At the same time, the region is a sought-after destination for affluent travelers from North America, Europe, and Asia.

Glamore brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing leadership experience to the role. Most recently, she served as vice president and regional general manager for Australia and New Zealand at Carnival Cruise Line, where she earned Travel Weekly‘s Female Executive of the Year award in 2024. Prior to Carnival, she held senior marketing roles at Expedia Group-owned Stayz, overseeing the transition of both the Stayz and Book a Bach brands to the global Vrbo platform across Australia and New Zealand.

In announcing the appointment, Virtuoso senior vice president of global markets Michael Londregan cited Glamore’s blend of commercial leadership, brand expertise, and travel-industry relationships as key factors in the decision. He also recognized Treasure’s contributions to strengthening Virtuoso’s position in the region during his tenure.

Virtuoso now includes more than 1,200 agency locations and over 20,000 travel advisors worldwide, generating approximately $35 billion in annual sales.
