Atlas Ocean Voyages has released new details on the accommodations for Atlas Adventurer, its first expedition sailing yacht, ahead of its planned 2028 debut. The ship will operate as an all-suite vessel, with reservations opening to the public on June 10, following an earlier window for loyalty members.

The yacht will be marketed as a hybrid between expedition ship and sailing vessel, with a 400-guest capacity and a notably high crew count of 274. That ratio, combined with an all-suite layout, sets it squarely at the top end of the small-ship expedition market, competing more with ultra-luxury polar operators than traditional expedition lines.

In total, Atlas Adventurer will house 200 suites across three tiers: 98 Signature Collection suites, 72 Concierge Collection suites, and 30 Reserve Collection suites. The top tier includes two-bedroom Owner’s Suites measuring 1,110 square feet and penthouse suites at 565 square feet. Select penthouses can connect to adjoining veranda suites, creating multi-room configurations.

Entry-level suites start at 290 square feet, with veranda and panorama options across both Signature and Concierge categories. Even at the base level, the emphasis is on full-suite inventory rather than mixed cabin types, which simplifies pricing and positioning for advisors.

Design is led by Portuguese studio Oitoemponto, with interiors that reference 1930s ocean liners. Expect a residential feel: marble, mahogany, and metal finishes, with a layout designed to maintain consistent sightlines to the sea. The approach leans more toward a private yacht than a traditional expedition ship.

On the technical side, the vessel is being built with a triple-masted carbon-fiber sailing rig supported by hybrid propulsion. Dual-fuel engines, a 9-megawatt battery system, and sail-assisted navigation are intended to reduce fuel consumption and enable quieter operations in sensitive regions. The ship will also carry an Ice Class 1B hull, allowing access to polar itineraries.

Detailed itineraries are expected to be released in early May.
