Silversea has opened general sales for its 2029 World Cruise, A Pacific Awakening, a 125-day sailing that—surprisingly—focuses entirely on the Pacific rather than circling the globe. The itinerary covers more than 60 destinations across 19 countries, moving through Polynesia, Micronesia, Australia, Asia, and New Zealand, emphasizing longer stays and smaller ports alongside major cities.
Departing from San Diego on Jan. 5, 2029, the voyage will take place on Silver Whisper, one of the smallest ships ever to host a world cruise, carrying just 392 guests. The ship underwent a refurbishment in 2024 and is designed to access ports that larger vessels can’t reach, which shapes much of the routing. Guests can expect 17 overnight stays and a mix of well-known destinations and less-visited stops across the Pacific.
Silversea is structuring the itinerary as a series of regional segments across the Pacific, moving from Hawaii and French Polynesia through New Zealand and Australia, then into Southeast Asia, Japan, and China before ending in Singapore. The routing relies heavily on the Pacific as a standalone region, rather than treating it as a pass-through between continents, with a mix of cultural stops, nature-focused destinations, and overland experiences, including an included trip to Xi’an to see the terracotta warriors.
A set of six signature events is built into the itinerary, which is likely to be a key selling point. These include a private evening at ʻIolani Palace in Honolulu, a performance at Tasmania’s Theatre Royal with the Tasmania Symphony Orchestra, and a full-ship event on Kalanggaman Island in the Philippines. The sailing concludes with a private dinner at the Sanctuary of Truth in Thailand.
General sales for A Pacific Awakening opened yesterday, April 21, with fares starting at $97,700 per guest for the full 125-day voyage.
