The Cruise Globe has surpassed £1 million in cruise sales in less than two months after launching its travel agency, prompting the company to accelerate hiring for experienced cruise advisors in both the U.K. and U.S.
The company, which combines a consumer cruise-tracking app with an advisor-led booking business, expects to be booking more than £1 million in cruise sales per month by September. Its longer-term target is £50 million in annual turnover by 2027. Bookings to date have ranged from mainstream sailings to luxury world cruises.
“We’re experiencing growth much faster than we anticipated,” said Matt Jones, CEO and co-founder of The Cruise Globe. “Our biggest challenge isn’t now finding customers, it’s hiring enough great travel advisors to keep up with demand.”
The agency grew out of The Cruise Globe app, a free platform that lets travelers track and map their past cruises, follow ships, and explore itineraries. According to the company, the app is used by more than 150,000 cruisers, giving its advisors access to information about clients’ previous cruise lines, ports and destinations as well as lines they have considered but not yet booked. The company plans to expand those customer profiles with reviews, wish lists and social features.
Technology also plays a role behind the scenes. The Cruise Globe says its advisors use AI-powered tools to automate repetitive administrative work, while recommendations and client relationships remain in the hands of human advisors.
“Our advisors use smart, AI-powered tools behind the scenes to take care of the busywork, but the job of guiding a client toward their next cruise will always sit with a person,” Jones said. “We are resolute in our belief that people still want human interaction and a relationship with a trusted advisor when they book their cruises.”
The Cruise Globe was founded by Jones, marine technology entrepreneur Will Ellison and Emma Le Teace, the creator behind Emma Cruises, whose cruise-focused YouTube channel has more than 400,000 subscribers. The company is affiliated with Global Travel Collection, which is part of Internova.
