Atlas Ocean Voyages is expanding its Africa offerings with seven new pre-voyage land experiences for guests sailing aboard the 98-guest Atlas Adventurer during its spring 2029 season.
The new programs, available on select Kenya and South Africa itineraries, give travelers the option to add three to seven nights ashore before embarking in Mombasa or Cape Town. They range from an introductory four-day safari in Kenya’s Amboseli and Tsavo East national parks to an eight-day itinerary through some of the country’s most sought-after private reserves.
“An expedition doesn’t have to begin upon arrival at the yacht,” said James A. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages, in a statement. “These new safari experiences give our guests the chance to enhance their journey with a truly immersive land excursion encountering Africa’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes, before they ever set foot aboard Atlas Adventurer.”

In Kenya, the six-day A&K Sanctuary Experience begins with an overnight in Nairobi, then continues to Sanctuary Kitirua Lodge near Amboseli National Park and to Sanctuary Olonana in the Masai Mara. The itinerary, operated in partnership with Abercrombie & Kent, is priced from $12,509 per person, double occupancy. A more extensive seven-night Luxury Signature Safari, from $26,969 per person, includes Sanctuary Kitirua and &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Laikipia and the Ritz-Carlton’s safari camp on the Sand River in the Masai Mara.
Southern Africa options include a three-night Cape Winelands program based at Le Quartier Français in Franschhoek, from $3,429 per person. It includes tastings in Paarl and Stellenbosch, a Wine Tram outing, and a Table Mountain cable car visit. Safari-focused choices include Lion Sands Narina Lodge, &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge, and a six-night Botswana journey through the Okavango Delta and Chobe, capped by a visit to Victoria Falls.
The programs are offered with four Atlas Adventurer voyages: Mombasa to Cape Town on March 24, 2029; Cape Town to Mombasa and Cape Town to Athens on April 7; and Mombasa to Mahé on April 21. The yacht is scheduled to debut in 2028.
