Kensington Tours has introduced a slate of new family and multigenerational itineraries for 2026, expanding its private guided portfolio across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. The additions are designed for longer summer trips and can comfortably accommodate multiple generations traveling together.
The new itineraries span Italy, Greece, Japan, Costa Rica, and New Zealand, as well as slower-paced journeys focused on heritage research, wellness, and nature-based travel. According to Kensington, families are planning further ahead and looking for trips that balance education, downtime, and access to private guides across a wide range of ages and mobility levels.
“Multigenerational travel continues to shape how families plan vacations, particularly for longer summer trips,” said Helen Giontsis, Kensington’s president. “Both internal and industry research show that more families are traveling with grandparents, parents, and children together, prioritizing destinations and itineraries that can accommodate a wide range of interests, mobility levels, and travel styles. In addition, we are seeing that families are booking major trips further in advance to secure preferred accommodations, guides, and exclusive access experiences.”
In Italy, Kensington has introduced both family-focused and ultra-luxe options. The Italy for Families itinerary combines major cultural sites with hands-on experiences, including neighborhood-based food activities in Rome, guided visits to the Colosseum, interactive workshops in Florence, and family-oriented activities in Venice. A separate set of Ultra Luxe Italy itineraries emphasizes private access and exclusive experiences, including archaeologist-led site visits, vintage car tours along the Appian Way, private dining on the Amalfi Coast, and yacht excursions around Capri and the Li Galli Islands.
Japan joins the family portfolio with a multi-city itinerary covering Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and Osaka. The program blends pop culture and traditional experiences, with activities ranging from manga workshops and lake cruises to temple visits and guided food exploration in Osaka. Greece is represented through contrasting itineraries, including an island-focused journey through Athens, Paros, Mykonos, and Milos, and a mainland route through the Peloponnese that connects classical sites with smaller towns such as Nafplio, Olympia, and Monemvasia.
Outside Europe, new family trips include Costa Rica itineraries that move from rainforest to beach, combining wildlife viewing, volcano exploration, and time in Manuel Antonio, as well as a New Zealand program that spans both islands. Highlights include Hobbiton, Rotorua’s geothermal landscapes, Māori cultural experiences, and Milford Sound.
Beyond family travel, Kensington has also expanded its Personal Heritage Journeys in partnership with professional genealogists, including new West Africa itineraries centered on Ghana. Additional slow-travel and wellness-focused routes, such as Swiss alpine journeys and Southeast Asia land-and-river combinations, round out the 2026 lineup.
The new itineraries are available to book now, with departures beginning in 2026 and customization offered across all destinations.
