Fresh off its role as Special Partner of the 2025 Italian Open, La Dolce Vita Orient Express is teeing up a new chapter in luxury rail travel with the launch of dedicated golf itineraries through Italy. Designed to elevate the country’s status as a premier golf destination, the new journeys blend the elegance of slow travel with access to world-class courses, many of which are well beyond the sport’s usual hotspots.
The first itinerary, Northern Greens, debuts in October 2025, with bookings now open. Beginning at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club—host of the 2023 Ryder Cup—guests will board the train at Rome’s Ostiense Station following a welcome reception in the exclusive La Dolce Vita Lounge. From there, the journey unfolds with stops at some of the country’s most lauded golf destinations, including Franciacorta Golf Club, Royal Park I Roveri, Antognolla Golf Club, and Terme di Saturnia Natural SPA & Golf Resort.
A second itinerary, Italian Swing, will follow in November, showcasing the country’s Central and Southern regions. That route includes prestigious stops at San Domenico Golf Club in Puglia, The Club at Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, and Argentario Golf Club, the only PGA-licensed course in Italy.
Onboard, travelers will be accompanied by an internationally renowned professional golfer, who will offer bespoke technical sessions and casual guidance throughout the journey. Each stop will feature curated experiences catering to non-golfers as well.
The new golf routes build on La Dolce Vita’s existing network of eight itineraries, offering a fresh way to experience Italy’s landscapes through the lens of the game. Developed in collaboration with the Italian Golf Federation and sports marketing firm Infront, the program also nods to Italy’s growing ambition in the realm of high-end, sustainable sports tourism.
As part of its partnership with the Italian Open, the brand also awarded a special prize during the tournament: a two-night journey aboard the train and a stay at the Orient Express La Minerva Hotel in Rome.
