Advisors love JW Marriott Marquis Miami for its valuable Marriott Luminous perks, strong local partnerships, and prime downtown location—here’s how to book it best.

The centrally located JW Marriott Marquis Miami offers a seamless retreat from Miami’s bustle the moment guests arrive. This resort complex is both a polished, business-minded luxury property and an enclave of recreation, not a South Beach resort dressed up for expense accounts and rooftop parties.
Beyond the sleek porte cochère, the atmosphere feels stately yet contemporary, with glossy finishes and large-scale artwork, including a custom Young-Deok Seo sculpture made from bicycle chains, creating an appropriately impressive welcome. A VIP client can arrive directly from Miami International Airport in less than 20 minutes, meet a colleague in the lobby, and head to the upscale Boulud Sud lounge and bar without contending with the crowds or theatrics of Miami Beach.
The 41-story hotel is centrally located downtown, steps from the Brickell Financial District, and within easy reach of corporate offices, Brickell City Center, the Kaseya Center, MiamiCentral station, and daily cruise departures from PortMiami. The central location makes it especially useful for executives, conference attendees, and cruise clients seeking a sophisticated pre- or post-sailing stay.
Advisors should avoid selling this as a beachfront escape, though. The hopping and stylish South Beach is about a 15-minute drive away, and the experience here at the hotel feels distinctly urban. Instead, JW Marriott Marquis Miami is the blueprint for the luxe hotel collection, offering convenience, scale, and an onsite collection of amenities that lets a busy traveler accomplish almost everything under one roof.
Opened in 2010, the hotel was the first of its kind in Marriott’s portfolio and was built as part of the $1 billion Metropolitan Miami development. An extensive $16 million renovation completed in 2023 refreshed all guestrooms and public spaces while preserving the confident, corporate polish associated with the JW Marriott brand.
Clients who prefer a more refined, luxury business stay will appreciate the separate, more intimate Hotel Beaux Arts Miami located in the building’s upper floors. The boutique hotel-within-a-hotel property offers a separate, more personalized check-in experience, along with top floor-to-ceiling window views and access to the elite L’Atelier lounge.

The JW Marriott Marquis Miami offers 313 accommodations, including 56 suites, along with the in-tower yet distinctly separate 44-room Hotel Beaux Arts Miami. The rooms are stately and elegant with work areas, espresso machines, 55-inch televisions, Italian-marble bathrooms (featuring a nice touch in-mirror TVs), and excellent views of downtown or the always active Biscayne Bay.
Major conferences and prominent Miami events seek out the venue for its roughly 80,000 square feet of meeting space—the nearly 20,000-square-foot ballroom seats up to 1,500 theater-style, with seated banquet capacity for up to 1,000. Though you won’t need a conference badge to feel welcome here, the hotel’s event and conference center feels quietly tucked away from the hotel’s main lobby and amenities, perfect for a quiet, solo business trip.
The amenities go well beyond the standard city-hotel formula as the all-in-one complex feels more like a sprawling resort than a standard tower hotel. Clients can play pick-up games on the 10,000-square-foot NBA-approved basketball court, use expansive fitness facilities, play virtual golf, enjoy the duckpin bowling alley, relax in the full-service spa and the 19th-deck pool terrace. Boulud Sud and its energetic business-bar, from chef Daniel Boulud, provide a credible setting for a client dinner without requiring guests to leave the property.

Advisors connected with Marriott Luminous can add a few additional perks to their client’s reservation. Most commonly, that includes daily breakfast for two, a welcome amenity (think: an in-suite pre-set of fresh fruit, chocolates, or a bottle of wine), an availability-based room or suite upgrade, and flexible check-in or check-out. The combination of location, recognition, and bookable value is the hotel’s strongest selling point for advisors.
One important note: the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, JW Marriott Miami, and JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa are three separate properties in Miami. They are often confused with each other, especially since they are close together. Double-check that your client knows which property they are staying at, and include the full name and address in all communications.
Here’s what luxury travel advisors should know about booking JW Marriott Marquis Miami:
Why Travel Advisors Book It
- The hotel’s guestrooms are spacious, starting at about 500 square feet, with ample workspace in each room, while the 1,066-square-foot Bay View Suites give executives and longer-stay clients a separate living space for working.
- Eligible Marriott Luminous bookings often include daily breakfast for two, a welcome amenity, availability-based upgrades, and early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability and unlikely during peak weeks like Art Basel and Ultra Music Festival), and allow clients to earn Marriott Bonvoy points.
- The downtown location is ideal for corporate travelers who want to be close to Brickell’s financial district, MiamiCentral, and the Kaseya Center, while keeping PortMiami conveniently accessible for easy pre- and post-cruise stays.
- Standout amenities included with each stay range from a heated sky pool, NBA-approved basketball court, duckpin bowling, virtual golf, and an expansive fitness center, giving the property a more fun alternative than a conventional city business property.

Rooms & Suites
The hotel’s 313 rooms and suites range from spacious yet stylish 500-square-foot Deluxe Rooms to sprawling Presidential accommodations. The most recent renovation was in 2023 with a $16 million overhaul of all guest rooms and public spaces. Dedicated, glass-desk work areas, and well-stocked espresso machines make even entry-level rooms a practical choice for solo business travelers.
For clients who want a signature Miami water view without paying for a suite, consider guiding them to a Deluxe Bay View Room, though it may be a partial view with neighboring towers. Junior Suites offer more room to spread out on longer extended stays. Families should ask about two-double-bed rooms and the property’s connecting rooms.
The 1,066-square-foot Bay View Suite makes a strong case for clients seeking a separate bedroom, living room, dining table, and powder room. The Vice Presidential and Presidential suites provide even more space for hosting, and the best panoramic views.

Food & Drink
Chef Daniel Boulud’s Boulud Sud is the property’s signature dining experience, offering clients a trendy, high-end lunch and dinner onsite. This is the internationally acclaimed chef’s only Miami outpost, with several restaurants that hold four Michelin stars combined. The restaurant draws on coastal Mediterranean flavors and is renowned for its Spanish-inspired grilled octopus, grilled branzino, and boldly spiced duck breast. The vibe is upscale yet welcoming, with lofted ceilings and plenty of natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The adjacent bar and lounge is spacious and a convenient meeting spot for a happy hour toast before heading out into Miami.
For advisors, private dining on-property is the best way to personalize the experience. Ask about the exclusive “Wine Cave” for small celebrations or client dinners, and you can work with the restaurant to personalize menus and wine selections. The restaurant frequently hosts seasonal, multi-course wine pairing dinners featuring renowned wineries.
Eligible guests with Marriott Luminous reservations can enjoy daily breakfast for two at the relaxed and drop-in or take-out Met Cafe & Bar. Concierge Level guests also have breakfast and afternoon refreshments in the 345 Executive Lounge. For clients who prefer a more convenient start, room service makes in-suite breakfast an appealing option. (Double-check the terms, as not all benefits cover in-suite dining.)
Experiences & Amenities
Far beyond your typical luxury hotel, JW Marriott Marquis Miami offers a surprising array of sports, entertainment, fitness, and wellness amenities all under one roof. Clients will appreciate the option to add an indoor golf lesson to their stay from the acclaimed Mariano Bartolome Golf School, which combines instruction with simulators and putting greens. The NBA-approved basketball court, duckpin bowling, and billiards give families and competitive colleagues plenty to do between outings.
The hotel’s 19th-floor sky deck pool offers a quiet retreat for an afternoon without the scene and noise of other hopping Miami hotels.

The sprawling MET2 Fitness helps clients stay on routine, with approximately 4,500 square feet of top-of-the-line Technogym equipment. Many treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, rowing machines, and stair climbers are available, along with free weights and weight machines. The ample space and capacity ensure clients don’t have to sacrifice their goals while traveling.
The hotel’s Enliven Spa & Salon offers time to retreat, even on the busiest Miami itineraries. Five treatment rooms include two couples’ suites, while a sauna and downtown-facing relaxation room encourage guests to linger. The 80-minute Enliven Signature Massage combines full-body work with hand-and-foot exfoliation, a mask, and a scalp massage.
Sustainability & Accessibility
JW Marriott Marquis Miami is LEED-certified and is part of the Florida Green Lodging Program. The resort leads in hospitality sustainability, offsetting its carbon footprint with localized sustainability systems, brand-wide event programs, and energy reduction. The resort has nearly eliminated single-use plastics, and your client can opt out of daily housekeeping to support sustainability.
The resort has six roll-in shower rooms (three with one bed, three with two) along with two accessible tub rooms. The main hotel entrance is step-free with automatic doors, and the pool and hot tub have permanent lifts. Front desk staff are trained to assist guests with disabilities. Throughout the resort, tactile signage, Braille interpretive materials, and TTYs are available for guests with visual or hearing impairments.

Location & Access
JW Marriott Marquis Miami is centrally located steps from the Financial District in downtown Miami. The surrounding streets are bustling and business-minded, though the area has a cultural sensibility with the Frost Science Museum, Perez Art Museum, Kaseya Center, and Bayfront Park close by. Metromover and Metrorail stations are steps from the resort, so a car is optional and often not needed to get around downtown. This isn’t your typical Miami beach setting, and South Beach is a short drive away.
Miami International Airport is 8 miles away, with taxis starting from about $25 each way. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is 26 miles away, and taxis start at about $70. PortMiami is only around a mile away, which suits pre- and post-cruise stays, but advise your client to allow extra time, as traffic near the cruise port can spike on embarkation days. Brightline’s Miami station is also nearby. The hotel offers no chauffeur service beyond taxis on request, so advisors should book private transfers ahead.
The hotel’s only parking option is valet, starting at about $76 daily.
How to Book Smart
Use the Marriott Luminous portal for top advisor perks, which typically include daily breakfast for two, an upgrade and early check-in or late check-out (subject to availability), along with a welcome amenity. Only flexible rates qualify for these perks, not member-only or advance-purchase rates.
Keep in mind that the resort’s’s Executive Rooms (618 square feet versus 492 square feet for a Deluxe King) include Concierge Lounge access, which Bonvoy Platinum members and above already have, so skip that upcharge. Check the price of the 761-square-foot Junior Suite against the Executive Room.
The daily destination fee (which can range from $34 to $42) includes a food-and-beverage credit (usable at Boulud Sud), fitness class for two, local museum tickets, and a spa gift. Marriott Bonvoy Gold members or higher often get an extra elite amenity on top of this, such as daily barista-style coffee for two at the Met Cafe.
For clients headed to Art Basel week in early December, book at least six months out; Ultra Music Festival (March 26–28, 2027) will take over Bayfront Park, a short walk from the hotel. Upgrades are least likely to clear in those two weeks.
