Getting from Los Angeles to the Hamptons has long required a complicated mix of commercial flights, helicopter transfers, charter jets, or a willingness to spend hours sitting in summer traffic. Aero is betting there’s a better way.

The private jet airline has unveiled a new seasonal route connecting Los Angeles and East Hampton on a single itinerary, combining its by-the-seat private jet service with a jetside transfer operated by Blade. The service launches June 22 and will run through August 30, targeting travelers heading to Long Island’s East End for summer weekends.

The itinerary begins aboard Aero’s Gulfstream IV-SP aircraft, departing from Van Nuys Airport, rather than LAX. Upon arrival in the New York area, passengers will transfer directly to a waiting Blade turboprop positioned next to the aircraft for the final flight into East Hampton Airport. The arrangement eliminates the need for a separate helicopter booking, a lengthy drive from New York City, or a full private jet charter.

Aero CEO Ben Klein said the new route was designed to address a common pain point for affluent travelers trying to maximize short summer getaways.

“Some trips look easy on a map and feel impossible in practice,” Klein said in a statement. “Even New York to the Hamptons can take half a Friday in typical summer traffic. Add a coast-to-coast leg, and the weekend is over before it begins.”

On board, Aero continues to position itself as an alternative to both commercial first class and traditional private aviation. Amenities include an open bar, meals from brands including Erewhon, Sadelle’s, and Parm, Starlink Wi-Fi, and private-terminal departures with check-in beginning just 20 minutes before departure. Dogs of any size are permitted in the cabin, and passengers can check one large and one small bag.

The service is priced at $7,570 per seat, one-way, for the full Van Nuys-to-East Hampton journey. Flights operate on Fridays outbound from Los Angeles and Sundays returning from the Hamptons.
