Bark Air is adding four new European routes from New York, with direct service to Berlin, Dublin, Athens, and Stockholm, marking its latest network expansion as the dog-focused aviation service continues to build out its international reach.
The semi-private carrier, which operates with dogs in-cabin rather than in cargo, has positioned its service around a more controlled, concierge-led travel experience. Its Companion Concierge handles pre-trip logistics, including vaccination requirements, international paperwork, and destination planning, while onboard service includes space for dogs to move comfortably alongside their owners.
The new routes connect New York to cities known for being relatively accessible for travelers with dogs, expanding the company’s footprint beyond its existing North American network. Flights are structured similarly to its current operations, with a limited number of passengers and a service model that prioritizes in-cabin care.
At the same time, Bark Air is also beginning to extend that model beyond transportation. The company has partnered with Kona Village, a Rosewood Resort, to launch a four-night retreat series on Hawai‘i’s Kona Coast, scheduled for May 13–17, 2026.
The program combines Bark Air’s charter flights from Los Angeles with a structured, on-property experience at the 81-acre resort. Flights accommodate up to 10 passengers and their dogs, with onboard service that includes curated treats, bone broth, and support from trained canine-care specialists. Pre-arrival logistics, including Hawai‘i’s veterinary and entry requirements, are handled by the company’s concierge team.
At Kona Village, the retreat is built around a series of dog-inclusive experiences tied to the property’s landscape and programming. Guests stay in standalone hale accommodations and participate in activities such as guided walks, wellness sessions, and a version of the resort’s Island Roots dinner adapted to include dog-friendly elements. Additional components include tailored amenities for each dog, on-site support from trainers and behavior specialists, and dedicated concierge service throughout the stay.
“Kona Village was founded on a profound connection to land, culture, and community,” said Daniel Scott, the regional vice president and managing director for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Our partnership with BARK Air brings a joyful new dimension to that spirit. We are thrilled to offer an experience where every member of the ‘ohana—humans and dogs alike—feels truly seen, cared for, and welcomed.”
“Bark Air’s ambition is to create incredible travel experiences for dogs and their families,” added Michael Novotny, president of Bark Air. “As we continue our evolution from an airline to a holistic dog-first hospitality brand, this partnership is a natural and exciting extension of that mission.”
The Kona Village retreat is priced from $2,690 per night, with round-trip Los Angeles–Kona flights available at $15,000 for one passenger and up to two dogs. The booking window closes April 8, 2026, ahead of the May departure, while Bark Air’s new European routes will launch this summer.
