Avoiding a connection or arriving closer to a resort can give travelers something a room upgrade cannot: more time on vacation. That practical benefit is increasingly influencing private aviation bookings, according to an analysis of 2026 booking patterns and client activity from SELECT Private Jets by Internova.

The company reports that clients choose private flights to simplify journeys, accommodate their schedules, and make better use of limited travel time. Families, in particular, seek direct flights, flexible departures, and the ability to travel together, while first-time private flyers are drawn to easier access to their final destination.

“Today’s luxury traveler is focused on making the most of every moment,” said Kate Scott, vice president of SELECT Private Jets by Internova. “Private aviation allows travelers to spend less time in transit and more time enjoying their destination, whether that’s a family holiday, a milestone celebration, a major event or an important business trip.”

Europe dominated the company’s summer 2026 demand, with Italy leading bookings, followed closely by France. Within the United States, New York–South Florida and New York–Los Angeles remain among its busiest routes, serving both business and leisure travelers.

Seasonal trips and major events also influence demand. Ski destinations draw strong winter traffic, while the Kentucky Derby, the Masters, and the Super Bowl drive booking surges. From Thanksgiving through New Year’s, popular destinations include Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Providenciales, St. Barths and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For travel advisors, those patterns provide a starting point for discussing private flights with clients whose itineraries involve inconvenient connections, group travel, or tight schedules. Pricing depends on the route and demand; Internova says that on some popular routes, sharing the cost among a full group can be comparable to buying last-minute commercial first-class tickets. The company did not provide sample fares or numerical booking comparisons with its analysis.

SELECT Private Jets by Internova, formerly ALTOUR Air, arranges private charters through a network of aviation partners. Advisors affiliated with Internova brands, including ALTOUR, Global Travel Collection, In The Know Experiences, Nexion Travel Group, Travel Leaders Network, and The Vacation Group, can book these charters.
