La Compagnie is making a significant bet on the French Riviera’s growing year-round appeal. The all-business-class airline announced that it will extend its nonstop service between New York (Newark) and Nice through the winter 2026/2027 season, marking the first time the route will operate beyond the traditional summer travel period.
Since relaunching the service, the carrier has seen strong demand from both sides of the Atlantic. American travelers continue to show growing interest in the Côte d’Azur outside peak summer months, and residents of southern France have embraced the convenience of a nonstop connection to the New York market.
Beginning in winter 2026, La Compagnie will operate the route twice weekly. Flights will depart Newark on Mondays and Fridays at 8:30 p.m., arriving in Nice the following morning at 10:20 a.m. Return flights will leave Nice on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon, arriving in Newark at 3:30 p.m. local time.
Tourism stakeholders on the French Riviera are promoting the destination as a year-round rather than a seasonal beach getaway. While summer remains the region’s busiest period, destinations such as Nice, Cannes, Antibes, and Saint-Paul-de-Vence have increasingly attracted visitors during the shoulder and winter seasons, drawn by milder weather, cultural attractions, and a slower pace.
“Extending our New York-Nice route into the fall-winter season reflects La Compagnie’s growth momentum,” said Christian Vernet, chairman and CEO of La Compagnie, in a statement. “It speaks to the rising enthusiasm for this signature route, driven both by the French Riviera’s appeal to American travelers and by demand from southern France for a direct link to New York.”
The Nice extension comes as La Compagnie continues to expand its transatlantic network. For summer 2026, the airline plans to operate daily flights between Newark and Paris-Orly, up to six weekly flights to Milan, and up to four weekly flights to Nice.
Founded in 2014, La Compagnie has carved out a niche in the premium travel market with its all-business-class Airbus A321neo fleet. Each aircraft features 76 lie-flat seats, complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi, lounge access, and onboard dining designed in collaboration with guest chefs, positioning the carrier as an alternative to traditional business-class offerings on larger airlines.
