Atlas Ocean Voyages is heading into new territory—literally.
The luxury expedition cruise line has unveiled the inaugural 2028-2029 season for Atlas Adventurer, its newest yacht, and with it comes the brand’s first-ever itineraries in Asia and Africa.
The new deployment is a notable expansion for Atlas, which has largely focused its small-ship expeditions around polar regions, the Mediterranean, and South America. Beginning on Nov. 6, 2028, Atlas Adventurer will sail a collection of 16 voyages stretching from Japan and Southeast Asia to the Indian Ocean and Eastern Africa before concluding in Athens in spring 2029.
“This inaugural season is a defining moment for Atlas Ocean Voyages,” said James A. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages. “With Atlas Adventurer, we are introducing entirely new destinations while staying true to our ethos of delivering deeply immersive, culturally rich journeys.”

For advisors, the season opens a growing segment of expedition demand: travelers seeking culturally immersive itineraries outside the traditional Antarctica-and-Arctic circuit, but who still want the smaller-scale luxury yacht experience.
The itineraries range from nine to 21 nights and include voyages through Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Madagascar, Kenya, and South Africa. Highlights include holiday sailings through Southeast Asia, Indian Ocean crossings, and East Africa-focused itineraries combining safari-style wildlife experiences with coastal exploration.
Atlas is also leaning heavily into culinary and cultural programming. The line said voyages will feature Epicurean Expeditions and Cultural Experiences designed around regional cuisine, local traditions, and destination-focused shoreside programming. Examples include food-focused experiences in Bangkok, snorkeling and kayaking in Palawan and Puerto Princesa, and wildlife encounters in Madagascar and along the South African coast.
The line is additionally introducing a series of “Extraordinary Expeditions,” extended sailings of 40 nights or longer that bundle together multiple itineraries into larger regional journeys. The most ambitious is the 128-night Grand Odyssey Expedition from Kobe to Cape Town.
To drive early bookings, Atlas is offering a tiered inaugural package for the season, including airfare credits of up to $3,000 per suite, complimentary Wi-Fi, and pre-expedition hotel stays, depending on suite category.
Reservations open first to Atlas Yacht Club members on May 20, 2026, with general sales beginning June 10.
