I was surprised to learn that Four Seasons’ U.S. flagship property isn’t in New York. After all, that’s where you’ll typically find the flagship hotels of major luxury brands. Since I know and like the Four Seasons brand well, learning this distinction made me even more curious about the actual flagship in Philadelphia. And, recently, I visited to see it for myself.

The Canadian brand opened its U.S. flagship in Philadelphia in 2019, occupying the upper floors of the Comcast Technology Center. It remains, to this day, the highest hotel in North America, with its lobby, Jean-Georges restaurant, and SkyHigh bar on the 60th floor, while guest rooms, Philadelphia’s only Forbes Five-Star spa, indoor infinity pool, fitness center, and meeting spaces extend across the floors below. (In January 2026, the hotel unveiled Sky Garden, adding eight accommodations on the 47th floor, including a two-bedroom suite and a two-bedroom penthouse with private terraces.)

While Four Seasons Philadelphia is impressive in many ways, what struck me most was how quickly it has become a genuine hotspot for locals and a backdrop for all kinds of celebrations. Every time I mentioned to someone in Philadelphia where I was staying, almost everyone had a story or memory to share about the hotel, whether it was a celebratory dinner or drinks at SkyHigh.

In my opinion, that’s a true accomplishment for a hotel. When a property becomes part of locals’ everyday life—not simply somewhere tourists stay —it becomes a meaningful part of the city itself.

Every day during my stay, I watched people take the elevator to the 60th floor simply to admire the seasonal floral installations and take photos. The hotel partners with world-renowned floral designer Jeff Leatham to create its signature displays, and SkyHigh seemed to buzz at virtually every hour.

In a world where hotels sometimes lack soul, it was refreshing to stay at such an energetic, vibrant property—one where spectacular views, ambitious gastronomy, and high-end luxury come together with highly personalized, impeccable service.

Here’s what luxury travel advisors should know before booking Four Seasons Philadelphia:

Why Travel Advisors Book It

  • It’s perfect for clients who want high floors and city views, since every room offers them.
  • Food lovers will be pleased, with a signature restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten and another one from local star chef Greg Vernick.
  • The hotel is strategically located within walking distance of the museum district and a short 10-minute walk from the main shopping avenue.
  • The rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a residential feel, a bathtub, a walk-in closet, and more space than average.

Rooms & Suites

The hotel has 227 rooms and suites, including its original accommodations on floors 48–56 and the Sky Garden collection on floor 47. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, every room features floor-to-ceiling windows, signature all-white Four Seasons bedding, a coffee table, a lounger, and unbeatable city views from the city’s tallest building.

The color palette matches what you’d expect at a Four Seasons property: lots of white, pastels, copper, light pink, and silver for an overall calming, expansive atmosphere. Offering automated blinds and intuitive lighting, the rooms vary from Premier Rooms (averaging 400 square feet) with one king or two double beds to Skyline Suites (810 square feet) with a separate living room, dining table, one oversized bathroom with a floor-to-ceiling window and a soaking tub, one guest powder room, a makeup station, and a walk-in closet.

In January 2026, the hotel officially unveiled its Sky Garden, a new residential-style floor designed by 1508 London with three pillars in mind: art, wellness, and gastronomy. Access to this floor is restricted to guests staying there. Guests typically check in in the room. (The hotel’s sales director, Camille Fontet, describes it as “a hotel within the hotel.”)

The new floor features four guest rooms, two one-bedroom suites, a two-bedroom suite, and a signature two-bedroom penthouse, each designed for guests looking for something more. The garden-in-the-sky concept draws inspiration from the floor’s Wildflower Green Roof, creating a lush backdrop against the city views and complementing the expansive private terraces in the two-bedroom suite and penthouse.

The floor also features artworks by local and international artists, with a collection centered on geometry, natural materials, and bold line work that blends timeless elegance with unexpected details. Central to the artistic narrative is the influence of Alexander Calder, whose legacy is deeply rooted in Philadelphia. Inspired by Calder’s exploration of movement, form, and balance, the collection incorporates strong lines, vibrant contrasts, and unexpected forms, offering a modern interpretation of his iconic style in an elevated residential setting.

“When the 47th floor became available, Comcast asked us if we wanted it,” Camille Fontet told Luxury Travel Report. “And of course, we did. We took this opportunity to create a completely different look and feel from the other floors and were able to use the available outdoor space to create private terraces. Eventually, all of the hotel’s rooms may adopt the same look and feel as the Sky Garden accommodations, but for now, they’re a great complement to our existing offering.”

According to Fontet, the new floor is particularly well suited to guests looking for greater privacy, as well as families and groups interested in taking over the entire floor. “Exclusive art pieces are everywhere in the accommodations, and guests can enjoy food from Jean-Georges in their own dining room,” she added.

Food & Drink

The food and beverage offering at Four Seasons Philadelphia is consistent with one of the brand’s key pillars: gastronomy. For its Philadelphia property, Four Seasons teamed up with local star chef Greg Vernick to open Vernick Fish, which quickly became one of the city’s most sought-after tables. Almost everyone I spoke with during my trip had been there, and I heard nothing but great things. After experiencing it for myself, I can say it lived up to the hype. Everything I tried was delicious, from the tuna sashimi and oysters to the shrimp cocktail and fish crudo, and the overall dining experience was truly memorable.

With Vernick Fish, the more casual option, and Jean-Georges Philadelphia, the fine-dining restaurant on the 59th floor, the hotel offers two very different, but complementary, dining experiences.

Jean-Georges offers both an elevated tasting menu and à la carte options. The hotel also uses the space to host its elegant Sunday brunch. On most mornings, hotel guests can enjoy an à la carte breakfast, and they can also grab a coffee and pastry at Vernick Coffee Bar, another hotel venue. My only disappointment was that this brilliant and convenient coffee bar is open only on weekdays. On weekends, the hotel offers a Coffee Counter near the front desk with a similar grab-and-go option.

In-room dining is available 24/7, and SkyHigh, the hotel’s signature cocktail bar on the 60th floor, is one of the city’s go-to spots and was consistently buzzing at night during my stay. Hotel guests receive priority access, but reservations should be arranged through the concierge team as it is always full.

Wellness & Fitness

The highlight of Four Seasons Philadelphia is its infinity-edge pool, located on the 57th floor. With spectacular city views, the pool is especially beautiful at night and peaceful during the day, with comfortable lounge chairs and a serene, spa-like atmosphere. Adults-only hours add even more tranquility, while families can use the pool throughout the day.

The nearby fitness center is massive and could easily compete with a city gym. The equipment variety is impressive, with cardio machines, stationary bikes, stair climbers, weights, and on-site personal trainers. A large media wall broadcasting different channels is a nice touch, and the sweeping views from the 57th floor are a bonus.

The Four Seasons Philadelphia spa is the only Forbes Five-Star spa in the city. With more than 700 pounds of healing crystals encased within its walls, the space feels calm and relaxing. The spa offers facials, massages, and body treatments, while a nail and hair salon featuring Rossano Ferretti’s award-winning Italian treatments completes the wellness offering.

Amenities & Features

The hotel’s amenities center on its impressive food and beverage outlets and dedicated wellness floor, home to an indoor infinity-edge pool, fitness center, and spa. The ground-floor arrival lobby offers bell and valet services, while hotel guests receive priority access to the elevators leading to the main lobby on the 60th floor.

The main lobby also features a seasonal floral installation open to the public that changes throughout the year. Guests can enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments throughout the day, including coffee and pastries in the morning, lemonade and fruit in the afternoon, and tea and sweets in the evening. A gelato cart is also available from 1 to 4 p.m.

Guest services include daily turndown service, house car service, overnight shoe shine service, and 24-hour in-room dining.

Location & Access

Four Seasons Philadelphia occupies floors 47 through 60 of the Comcast Technology Center, just steps from the Museum District, approximately 20 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport and 10 minutes from Philadelphia’s 30th Street Train Station.

The hotel can arrange airport or train station transfers, car rentals, and limousine service upon request.

How to Book Smart

The hotel is part of the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program, which gives registered travel advisors access to exclusive benefits at more than 130 Four Seasons hotels and resorts worldwide, including complimentary daily breakfast, VIP status, and potential room upgrades. That said, all travel advisors with a valid IATA number can earn a 10% commission on bookings.
