Set to open this August, 1 Hotel Copenhagen is now accepting reservations for its 282-room debut in the city’s historic Latin Quarter. The project is the brand’s second European hotel and marks 1 Hotels’ first Scandinavian outpost, transforming the former Skt. Petri into a biophilic urban retreat that blends Nordic design principles with the brand’s sustainability-first ethos.

Located at Krystalgade 22, the hotel offers access to key cultural landmarks—Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Castle, and the Botanical Garden are all within walking distance. Inside, guests will find architecture and interiors shaped by AvroKO, Norm Architects, Arkitema, Synergy Architects, and 1 Hotels’ in-house team. The result is a calm, tactile environment that uses reclaimed materials like oak and limestone, native greenery, and handcrafted Danish furnishings.

Public spaces are centered around a dramatic atrium with lounge seating, an indoor fireplace, and views of a courtyard garden that’s planted with wildflowers and herbs. Guest rooms, which include 30 suites, have expansive windows, natural textiles, stone sinks, and rainfall showers. Amenities include Bamford bath products, in-room yoga mats, and sustainably sourced bedding.

Green Michelin-starred Chef Chantelle Nicholson leads dining. Fjora offers a seasonal menu rooted in Nordic culinary traditions, while PÆRE—a bar concept inspired by local language and ingredients—serves rotating cocktails made with foraged botanicals. The open-format Farmstand provides grab-and-go snacks and regional products, available daily.

The property also includes four flexible event venues: The largest, Oak, holds up to 200 guests, while Juniper, Poplar, and Ember accommodate smaller gatherings of 16–24, all with integrated technology throughout.

Wellness programming includes a 24-hour fitness center, The Field House, with a full roster of personal training and group sessions. Opening early next year, the Bamford Wellness Spa will expand the offering with nature-based treatments in a quiet, low-lit space of oak and stone.

Sustainability is also central to the project, which targets both LEED Gold and BREEAM Excellent certifications. Energy-efficient systems, triple-glazed windows, reclaimed wood paneling, and a 3.2-meter-tall living wall support biodiversity while minimizing footprint. The hotel also repurposes the original structure with minimal demolition, reinforcing 1 Hotels’ adaptive reuse strategy.
