Aman has opened reservations for Amanvari, its first resort on Mexico’s East Cape, ahead of the property’s opening on Aug. 1. Set within the private Costa Palmas community along the Sea of Cortez, the 18-casita retreat is the latest step in the brand’s growing Americas portfolio and brings Aman’s approach to a stretch of Baja that has increasingly attracted luxury development in recent years.
Set where the desert, estuary, and sea converge, Amanvari has been designed to immerse guests in the natural landscape rather than compete with it. The resort was designed by Elastic Architects, with initial contributions from Heah & Co., and features 18 standalone casitas, each measuring 883 square feet with private heated pools, expansive terraces, and outdoor showers.
The property also gives guests access to Costa Palmas’ broader amenities, including a Robert Trent Jones II golf course, private marina and yacht club, organic farms, and miles of swimmable beachfront. Experiences will range from diving in nearby Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park and sport fishing in the Sea of Cortez to horseback riding through the surrounding desert and estuary landscapes.

“Amanvari marks a continued evolution of our vision to create destinations that are intrinsically connected to their environment,” said Aman Group chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin. “On the East Cape, where desert landscapes unfold into the Sea of Cortez, there is a rare sense of scale, stillness and natural rhythm.”
Dining will include several distinct concepts, including Aman’s Italian restaurant, Arva, and the Japanese-focused Sesui, which will feature a 10-seat omakase counter and à la carte dining. Luma, the resort’s beachfront venue, will focus on Mexican cuisine inspired by open-fire cooking and coastal traditions.
Wellness facilities center on an Aman Spa featuring a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Temazcal, along with hydrotherapy-focused “Hydro Houses,” treatment rooms, an outdoor yoga pavilion, a beauty salon, and a fitness center.
The opening reinforces Aman’s broader expansion across the Americas, with future projects planned in Miami Beach, Beverly Hills, The Bahamas, and the Texas Hill Country.
