The brand known for carved-sandstone retreats in Utah and sleek urban sanctuaries in Manhattan is heading somewhere new. Last week, Aman announced Amansanu, a ranch-inspired resort in Texas Hill Country, northwest of Austin, roughly 90 minutes from the city.
It will be the brand’s sixth U.S. property and its first to introduce fully serviced stables, a genuine first for the brand, and a sign that Aman is stretching its vocabulary beyond desert monoliths and alpine lodges.
The ultra-luxury ranch segment in the American West has long been anchored by a small roster of properties, like the Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana and Brush Creek in Wyoming, and clients with that appetite have had limited options outside that corridor. Texas has a deep ranching culture and abundant ranchland, but nothing at this price point or with this design pedigree. Amansanu is positioning itself to fill that gap.
The property will be designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig and feature standalone pavilions and a limited collection of private residences, each on a private hillside plot of at least 10 acres. A main lodge, multiple dining concepts, an Aman Spa along a natural creek, racquet sports courts, and extensive hiking trails round out the program. The stables and horse-riding trails will be a differentiator and a likely selling point for clients who’ve done the Wyoming circuit and are looking for something new.
Proximity to Austin also works in Amansanu’s favor. The city’s transformation over the past decade—a robust food scene, a growing arts and cultural presence, and a significant influx of wealth—has created a clientele ready for a nearby luxury escape, and a destination that positions itself as a long-weekend option from a major metro is inherently easier to sell.

No opening date has been announced, and the residences, which consist of four- to eight-bedroom homes with pools and generous outdoor terraces, are being marketed alongside the hotel.
Amansanu slots into an increasingly ambitious Aman Americas pipeline that also includes Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills, Amanvari on Mexico’s East Cape (expected this summer), and Amancaya in the Bahamas.
