Autograph Collection Hotels has made its India debut with Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal, a 176-key palace-style hotel on the Grand Trunk Road that adds a new product type to Marriott International’s already crowded lineup in the market.
Karnal sits about two hours from both Delhi and Chandigarh, which puts the hotel squarely in play for drive-to luxury weekend stays, quick-turn celebrations, and pre- or post-itinerary add-ons rather than a standalone long-haul destination. Karnal railway station is 15 minutes away, and the corridor connects easily to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Room options include penthouse-level suites such as Raja Niwas and Khwabgah, designed for longer stays or high-spending bookings. These have private terraces, butler service, and enough space to anchor a small group.
Where the property will likely land is in events: there’s more than 300,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including lawns and banquet halls that can accommodate large-format weddings and corporate groups.
F&B is built out across four venues—one focused on North-Western frontier cuisine, alongside an all-day restaurant, a bar, and a café—while the rest of the programming leans toward keeping guests on property with a spa, pool, and a full slate of activities, including tennis and ziplining.

The Autograph Collection angle is new for India. Unlike Marriott’s more standardized luxury brands, this one is built around standalone properties with distinct identities. Noormahal follows that playbook closely, leaning into palace-style architecture and a heavy mix of Mughal, Rajput, Punjabi, and Persian references.
For advisors, the end product is a high-capacity, design-forward hotel within driving distance of Delhi that can handle weddings, groups, and short luxury stays without pushing clients into a full resort itinerary.
