Capella Hotels and Resorts will make its Macau debut this fall with Capella at Galaxy Macau, now in a soft opening phase. The 95-suite property marks a rare marriage of boutique-style, ultra-luxury hospitality and the scale of an integrated resort, offering seclusion and immediate access to one of Asia’s most comprehensive entertainment precincts. The opening diversifies options beyond Macau’s traditional gaming-led profile.
Designed by Paris-based Moinard Bétaille, the 17-story hotel blends Capella’s highly personalized service ethos with a tropical aesthetic inspired by the green hills and water elements surrounding Macau, layered with references to its Portuguese-Chinese heritage. Light-filled balconies, private infinity-edge pools, outdoor lounges, winter gardens, butler pantries, and in-suite screening rooms underscore the residential feel.

Its location within Galaxy Macau adds another dimension. Guests have immediate access to more than 120 dining venues, from Michelin-starred fine dining to regional specialties, along with two award-winning spas, flagship luxury retail, and entertainment options ranging from the Grand Resort Deck’s Skytop Wave Pool to the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena. For MICE business, proximity to the Galaxy International Convention Center means the property can serve as a premium accommodation choice for incentive groups and high-level corporate gatherings.
Capella’s signature Capella Culturists will play a central role in differentiating the Macau experience. These on-property curators design bespoke itineraries that spotlight the city’s UNESCO-listed Historic Centre, fusion gastronomy, and lesser-known cultural enclaves such as Coloane Village, offering advisors an alternative to itineraries dominated by casinos and nightlife. That cultural depth, coupled with Capella’s consistent recognition as Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Hotel Brand for three consecutive years, is likely to draw brand-loyal guests from other Asian and global properties.
With its official launch still ahead, inventory is currently by invitation during the soft opening.
