COMO Hotels and Resorts has appointed Gary Henden as general manager of COMO Parrot Cay, tapping a veteran luxury hospitality executive to lead one of the Caribbean’s best-known private island resorts.

Henden brings more than 30 years of experience across luxury brands, including Hyatt, Jumeirah, Soneva, and Six Senses. He joined COMO in 2022 as part of the leadership team at COMO Laucala Island in Fiji, another ultra-luxury private island resort, where he helped oversee operations, focusing on personalized service, sustainability, and team culture.

His appointment comes as COMO Parrot Cay continues a series of investments aimed at strengthening both the guest experience and the property’s long-term environmental stewardship. The resort has been expanding sustainability initiatives and infrastructure improvements under the company’s COMO Cares philosophy, which emphasizes environmental conservation, community engagement, and cultural preservation across its portfolio.

“Gary has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to personalized service, and a focus on operational excellence and warm, people-led culture,” the company said in announcing the appointment, adding that his experience operating private island resorts and his sustainability-focused approach make him well-positioned to lead the property’s next phase.

Located on a secluded 1,000-acre private island in the Turks and Caicos Islands, COMO Parrot Cay has long been one of the Caribbean’s marquee luxury resorts, known for its expansive beachfront, wellness programming, and residential-style accommodations. Guests arrive via a combination of road and boat transfers from Providenciales International Airport, adding to the property’s sense of exclusivity.

The resort’s amenities include the COMO Shambhala Retreat with nine treatment rooms, yoga and Pilates studios, Japanese baths and wellness programming, along with multiple dining venues, family programming, tennis courts, running trails, and a collection of private beach houses and villas with dedicated butler service.
