Shamal Holding and Marriott International have announced plans for The Dubai Beach Edition, set to open in 2029 at Dubai Harbour. The project will mark the brand’s next major debut in the UAE—and its most ambitious expression yet of Edition’s quietly confident luxury ethos.

The upcoming property will feature 185 rooms and suites, each with unobstructed sea views. The hotel will also introduce new restaurant and bar concepts designed to attract both guests and locals, in keeping with Edition’s focus on dining as a social centerpiece.

The location at Dubai Harbour places the new hotel at the nexus of the city’s growing maritime and residential district, surrounded by luxury yachts, retail, and dining options. The setting reflects the brand’s preference for immersive, design-forward urban environments rather than sprawling resorts—aligning with how Dubai’s hospitality scene continues to evolve toward more experience-led luxury.

For Marriott, The Dubai Beach Edition deepens the brand’s presence in a city where the luxury pipeline remains one of the world’s most competitive. Edition already operates hotels in Abu Dhabi and downtown Dubai, but this launch expands its coastal footprint and reinforces the strategy of pairing hotel openings with long-term branded residence projects.

Abdulla Binhabtoor, the CEO of Shamal Holding, called the development “a destination that will stand out globally and further elevate Dubai as a world-class city for both travelers and residents,” while Marriott’s Jerome Briet described it as “an exciting addition to our growing luxury portfolio in Dubai.”

When complete, the Dubai Beach Edition will join a global portfolio now spanning 21 properties—from Lake Como to Tokyo Ginza—each defined less by repetition and more by a shared philosophy of modern, minimalist luxury. For Dubai, it’s another signal that the city’s next phase of growth isn’t about size or spectacle, but refinement and world-class design.
