Fairmont Hanoi has officially opened this month, marking the first Vietnam outpost for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. The 241-key hotel debuts in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, a few steps from Hoàn Kiếm Lake, within the capital’s most tightly packed commercial and historic district.
The property introduces Fairmont to a market that has seen steady luxury growth over the past decade, with international brands largely concentrating on beach and resort destinations rather than its urban cores.
The hotel’s 241 rooms include 38 Fairmont Gold rooms and 12 suites, with views over the Old Quarter, the city skyline, or an internal garden. Public spaces and interiors were designed by Perkins Eastman in collaboration with Aston Design, referencing Hanoi’s historic relationship with the Red River and the nearby Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long.
“Fairmont Hanoi has been envisioned as a new landmark at the heart of the capital’s economic and commercial center, a place where historical depth meets contemporary spirit,” said Lê Tuấn Anh, the CEO for GELEX Group, the property’s owners. “Beyond its role as an iconic development, the project reflects GELEX’s long-term commitment to partnering with Hanoi in creating sustainable values, contributing to a modern and civilized urban landscape while preserving the city’s cultural identity and depth.”
Food and beverage is a major part of the opening, with eight bars and restaurants planned across the hotel. Several venues are already operating, including 10 Central Café, YY Bar, and the Fairmont Gold Lounge. Additional concepts are scheduled to open later in the year, including Tran Dynasty, led by chef Luke Nguyen; the Japanese restaurant Hiryu; and the Italian venue Bacco, led by Michelin-starred chef Nicolas Isnard. A rooftop pool, terrace, and a bar are also confirmed but not yet open.
Fairmont Hanoi also introduces a large-scale wellness offering for the city center. The Cirua Spa, fitness and wellness club spans approximately 38,000 square feet and includes hydrotherapy facilities, plunge pools, saunas, steam rooms, and 10 private treatment rooms, along with a full fitness studio.
On the meetings and events side, the hotel includes what it describes as the Old Quarter’s largest pillarless ballroom, measuring roughly 12,000 square feet. Combined with additional meeting rooms, the total events footprint exceeds 40,000 square feet.
“Fairmont Hanoi is conceived as a genuine gathering place—a vibrant social epicenter where celebrations naturally unfold, cherished memories are forged, and everyday moments are elevated into truly unforgettable experiences,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Fairmont Hanoi is now open, with full restaurant and rooftop venues expected to roll out in phases throughout the next few months.
