Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Review: A Smart Luxury Base for Disney-Bound Families

There will come a time when you find yourself thinking: why not go (back) to Disney? The “Most Magical Place on Earth” truly has a lot to offer—especially if you have kids—but even if you don’t, there’s something about it that makes you want to be there. Walt Disney World has been entertaining generations since 1971 with nonstop entertainment, rides, music, and joy. But just because you want to go to Disney doesn’t mean you want the full experience 24/7, which is why your hotel choice matters.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort was my personal pick during a recent visit to Magic Kingdom. It had been 30 years since my last visit to Walt Disney World, so it’s fair to say my priorities have changed. What was I looking for? A convenient location, easy access, but also enough distance to enjoy quiet surroundings—and the ability to decide when I wanted to be in the action—without sacrificing amazing dining options, impeccable service, and luxury amenities. Was that too much to ask for? Absolutely not.

Four Seasons Orlando is all of that and much more.

The family pool at Four Seasons Orlando is playful and colourful.

Why Travel Advisors Book It

  • It is located within the perimeter of Walt Disney World Resort, but it is not inside the parks.
  • It is the only resort at Walt Disney World to offer an adults-only pool.
  • It features both a Michelin-starred restaurant and a Michelin-recommended restaurant.
  • It offers complimentary, all-day transportation to all theme parks.

Rooms & Suites

Four Seasons Orlando offers 443 spacious rooms, ranging from 500 square feet—the largest standard guest room in Orlando—to 3,000 square feet for the Royal Suite. The suites all feature a separate living room with a sofa bed, a large balcony, and either park or resort views, and many can be configured as connecting rooms, ideal for families or larger groups.

All rooms are decorated in neutral, calming tones and feature either a king-size bed or two queen beds, a full marble bathroom, thick terry bathrobes, Bose Bluetooth speakers, and twice-daily housekeeping service.

The overall atmosphere is elegant and soothing, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day at the parks. Disney touches in the rooms are intentionally subtle; during turndown service, the team may leave a postcard or a small nod to the magic outside. The rooms themselves, however, are designed to feel like a sanctuary—a calm, neutral escape from the energy of a day packed with adventure.

Good to know: The Park View Deluxe Suites are the latest room categories to be renovated.

Food & Drink

One of our personal highlights—and there were many—was the food offering. The resort features several dining experiences, including the one-Michelin-star restaurant Capa, which serves exquisite Spanish cuisine from an open-air kitchen on the hotel’s top floor, with stunning views of the park’s nightly fireworks.

Another excellent option is the Michelin-recommended restaurant Ravello, serving fresh homemade pasta dishes and Italian specialties, either in its spectacular dining room or on the lovely outdoor patio. Ravello also serves daily breakfast, with both à la carte options and a buffet (delicious and varied), as well as a Character Brunch on weekends, where Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie visit each table for photos and entertainment.

The lobby bar is a go-to spot for something more casual, offering a concise menu designed to satisfy a wide range of cravings. Lickety Split, the coffee shop, smoothie bar, and ice cream counter, was another real highlight. I always appreciate when a hotel offers this kind of experience—especially when the coffee is good, which it certainly is at Four Seasons Orlando—and when the overall selection feels thoughtful and appealing. Lickety Split quickly became our morning stop for a quick coffee and pastry before a workout, as well as the perfect place for a quick bite or snack at any time during the day.

The hotel also features a speakeasy-style bar that guests will enjoy discovering. The hotel turns the experience into a playful adventure, where guests can enjoy creative cocktails in an immersive, carefully curated setting that feels almost like a theatrical performance.

The Lakehouse is a casual eatery open for lunch only, conveniently located near the resort’s pools. Guests can enjoy fresh salads, light dishes, and classic lunch favorites, ideal for a relaxed midday break.

Finally, the golf clubhouse is home to Plancha, a restaurant serving weekend brunch (a great alternative to the Character Brunch if that’s not what you’re looking for), along with Latin American cuisine for lunch and dinner.

Good to know: The Character Brunch is held only on Thursdays and Saturdays, and reservations must be made in advance.

Amenities & Facilities

There is plenty to do on the property at Four Seasons Orlando, but the hardest part may simply be choosing what to do first.

The hotel features three different pools, including one reserved exclusively for adults (the only adult-only pool at Walt Disney World), as well as a five-acre water park complete with two water slides, a family pool, a splash zone, and even a lazy river winding around a “ruined” mansion. For kids of all ages, there is also a climbing wall, a game room, and outdoor activities, including a giant chessboard, pool tables, and arcade games.

Guests will also find a turf court, a basketball court, outdoor movie nights on the Starstruck screen by the family pool, two boutiques, a kids’ club, and an official Disney planning counter within the resort.

The spa is cozy and inviting.

Good to know: The spa features a dedicated children’s area, offering special services for guests as young as 2 years old. Here, children can choose their favorite prince or princess and enjoy a magical experience as they transform into their favorite Disney character.

For adults, the spa offers 18 dedicated treatment rooms, a cozy relaxation lounge with plush blankets and fire pits, an experience shower, and a steam room. The spa is pure heaven, and guests are welcome to enjoy the facilities even without booking a treatment, although they definitely should. Curated services such as the Radiant Facial and Vitamin Therapy are also offered.

The lazy river is fun for everyone.

Wellness & Fitness

The resort offers daily fitness classes in its luminous Movement Studio, where guests can start the day with yoga or Pilates sessions, complimentary for all resort guests, or opt for the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center.

The hotel also offers one complimentary pickleball or tennis lesson with an in-house expert, and court access is complimentary for all guests with a prior reservation. On site, guests will find two Har-Tru tennis courts and four pickleball courts, in addition to a full 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio exclusively for Four Seasons.

The hotel is a true haven of peace and tranquility.

Location & Access

Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is located approximately 25 minutes from Orlando International Airport. For added convenience, the resort offers airport transfers in luxury vehicles.

Access to all Walt Disney World theme parks is complimentary, with a private Four Seasons shuttle operating throughout the day between the resort and the parks, which are located approximately 10 minutes from the hotel.

How to Book Smart

The hotel is a member of Virtuoso and American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. It can be booked via the GDS system. The resort also offers the fourth night free through its “Stay Longer” package.
