The Safari Collection has introduced a new expansion at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi’s Langata suburb, adding a family-focused accommodation alongside updated dining venues and guest spaces across the 12-acre estate.

The reopening’s focus is the Finch Hatton Family Suite, a two-bedroom addition that can accommodate multigenerational stays while maintaining proximity to the property’s famous Nubian giraffes. The suite includes two en-suite bedrooms, a private lounge, and a balcony positioned for close encounters with the animals.

Set within 140 acres of indigenous forest on the edge of Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Manor is one of the capital’s most distinctive overnight stops, typically paired with safari itineraries across Kenya’s Maasai Mara or Laikipia regions. The property’s location in Langata places guests roughly a 45-minute drive from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, depending on traffic, making it a frequent first or final night in the country.

Alongside the new suite, the expansion introduces several food-and-beverage concepts intended to highlight local culture and produce. The Garden Manor breakfast room has been redesigned with three-sided panoramic views overlooking the grounds, while a mural by Kenyan artist Camille Wekesa has been added to the space. A new Orchid House, home to approximately 150 orchids, serves as both a quiet garden retreat during the day and a private candlelit dining venue after dark. The manor has also added a walk-in wine cellar dedicated to African labels, with guided tastings available.

A separate Garden Coffee Experience has been developed to spotlight Kenya’s coffee heritage, guiding guests through cultivation, processing, and brewing techniques. The program aligns with the country’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading specialty coffee producers and builds on the property’s emphasis on immersive, small-scale experiences rather than large-group programming.

Guests continue to have access to The Retreat, the wellness facility located about 250 feet from the main house. The space includes a heated infinity pool overlooking the giraffe sanctuary, a gym, treatment rooms, sauna and steam facilities, and casual dining at Daisy’s Café.

Giraffe Manor operates as part of The Safari Collection’s broader conservation framework, with guest stays contributing to the Footprint Foundation and the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife’s giraffe breeding and protection programs. Rates currently begin at $1,413 per person, full board, with transfers and on-property experiences included.
