COMO Hotels and Resorts will reopen a historic Left Bank property in Pauillac as COMO Cordeillan-Bages on May 1, 2026, marking the brand’s entry into Bordeaux’s Médoc wine region. The relaunch, a collaboration with the Cazes family, owners of Château Lynch-Bages, introduces COMO’s third address in France.
Set among the vineyards that define the Médoc appellation, the 19th-century estate sits along the Route des Châteaux and within walking distance of the restored village of Bages. The hotel positions guests close to several of Bordeaux’s most closely watched vineyards, including three of the region’s five First Growth estates, while the Atlantic coast lies roughly 18 miles west. Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport provides the primary international access point, with Pauillac serving as a gateway to the Left Bank’s winemaking corridor.
The renovation is led by Italian designer Paola Navone, who also oversaw COMO Le Montrachet in Burgundy. Her redesign encompasses the hotel’s 28 rooms and suites, including two COMO Suites, as well as the gastronomic restaurant, an 80-foot outdoor pool, gym, and sauna. Architectural elements such as the property’s historic turrets remain central to the project, with interiors designed to reflect the building’s heritage while introducing contemporary materials and a more restrained palette.

“Following the success of COMO Le Montrachet, we are delighted to expand our presence in another of the world’s great wine regions,” said COMO Holdings CEO Olivier Jolivet. “The Médoc’s heritage and craftsmanship resonate strongly with COMO’s values, and with COMO Cordeillan-Bages, we will reimagine Bordeaux’s traditions through a contemporary expression of quiet luxury in the heart of the Médoc.” The collaboration reflects the group’s broader alignment with family-owned partners, linking the hotel group’s philosophy with the Cazes family’s long-standing winemaking legacy.
Jean-Charles Cazes, CEO of Château Lynch-Bages, added, “We are delighted to be partnering with a family group of such standing, united by shared values and a common pursuit of excellence. First opened 35 years ago, Cordeillan-Bages was among the pioneering hotels of wine tourism in the region. Today, this collaboration marks a natural continuation of our enduring commitment to the Médoc and to Cordeillan-Bages, while giving the property a new momentum for the years ahead.”
The opening follows COMO’s continued expansion in France, alongside COMO Le Beauvallon in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, scheduled to debut on April 24. COMO Cordeillan-Bages will operate seasonally from March through November, with rates starting from $415 per night in low season when reservations open for the May launch.
