On its website, Paraiso de la Bonita asks guests to “remember the truest luxury is the one that touches the soul,” and that spirit extends to every aspect of the guest experience.

The quaint, adults-only, all-oceanview suite property—formerly Zoëtry La Bonita—is nestled among the mangroves of the Riviera Maya. Designed by renowned Mexican architect and hotelier Carlos Gosselin as a romantic gift to his wife, his beloved “La Bonita,” arriving guests feel as if they’re stepping into a private home, and in a way, they are. Every corner of the resort reflects the couple’s devotion to art and Mayan culture, from lobby sculptures to suites named after destinations they loved.

Following its reintroduction under the Royalton Luxury Resorts umbrella, Paraiso de la Bonita retains the intimacy and artistry of its Zoëtry days while embracing a more modern vision of personalized Mexican hospitality. There’s an unexplainable sense of calm, aided by the resort’s soft colour palette and tranquil atmosphere. A water feature greets guests upon arrival, leading the eye toward a pool that appears to spill seamlessly into the Caribbean. The feeling is one of infinity, well-being, and quiet welcome.

With just 100 suites and no thumping pool beats or crowds, Paraiso de la Bonita is a standout for clients seeking a peaceful, restorative retreat that still feels distinctly Riviera Maya.

Here’s what luxury travel advisors should know about booking Paraiso de la Bonita.

Why Travel Advisors Book It

  • All suites are ocean-facing and feature generous layouts, Frette linens, and Le Chemin bath amenities—no need to upsell for a view.
  • Attentive but unobtrusive service caters to repeat guests and couples who value privacy.
  • The food and beverage program elevates the all-inclusive model with refined, locally inspired dining.
  • The adults-only setting and absence of loud music or crowds appeal to clients seeking serenity.
  • Integration into the Royalton portfolio streamlines booking through major tour operator partners and trade channels.

Rooms & Suites

Paraiso de la Bonita offers four categories: Master Suite Ocean Front King, Master Suite Ocean Front Two Queen, Master Suite Ocean Front Plunge Pool King, and eight Double Suites that combine two bedrooms with a shared dining room. Layouts are consistent across categories, featuring marble bathrooms, open showers, and soaking tubs, along with the option of privacy doors when desired.

The Plunge Pool King is the top pick for honeymooners, and inventory is limited; therefore, early booking is essential during high season. The Double Suites are ideal for friends traveling together or small groups seeking additional space. All rooms have been recently renovated and feature high-speed Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines, and efficient 24-hour room service. Ground-floor rooms feature a small entry step, which may pose challenges for travelers with mobility impairments.

Food & Drink

The culinary program at Paraiso de la Bonita is one of its greatest strengths. The resort offers three à la carte restaurants—no buffets—with every dish crafted under the direction of Executive Chef Jesús Farfán, a respected name in Mexico’s culinary scene. His menus strike a balance between creativity and indulgence, utilizing local ingredients to tell a story of Mexican terroir.

Guests can book private wine tastings or dinners in the 2,700-bottle cellar, guided by the resort’s sommelier. Advisors can prearrange these experiences for milestone celebrations or as part of dining upsells.

Cocktails are equally thoughtful—the signature welcome drink, the Cucu Fizz, blends cucumber, pineapple, and citrus as a nod to the sacred symbolism of Mayan jade. Poolside cabanas can be reserved for $189 (accompanied by a bottle of sparkling wine) or upgraded to include Champagne for an additional fee.

Experiences & Amenities

A saltwater pool overlooks the ocean, offering a calm setting for reading or sunbathing. The spa and fitness centre are currently undergoing renovation and set to reopen on December 15, 2025.

Among the most distinctive experiences is the temazcal ceremony, an ancient Mayan ritual led by a shaman to purify the body and mind through volcanic heat and herbal steam. Conducted inside a stone dome symbolizing the earth’s womb, the ceremony combines chanting, meditation, and reflection—a powerful, grounding experience that can be arranged upon request. The resort plans to add regular sessions to its activity schedule.

Additional amenities include a complimentary “paint and sip” program and, soon, a weekly Mexican market featuring local artisans.

Location & Access

Formerly Zoëtry La Bonita, the property is situated along the Riviera Maya, approximately 30 minutes from Cancún International Airport. Tucked between Cancun’s energy and Playa del Carmen’s nightlife, it offers a tranquil base for those seeking to disconnect. Private transfers can be arranged through NexusTours, the resort’s preferred partner. The location’s seclusion makes it ideal for clients prioritizing rest and rejuvenation over nightlife or shopping.

How to Book Smart

Since its recent integration into the Royalton portfolio, the resort is now available for booking through Royalton’s preferred network of tour operators, including ALG Vacations, DestiWorld, Sunwing, British Airways Holidays, Virgin Holidays, Flight Center, and Dnata. Advisors will soon be able to access exclusive trade rates, incentives, and familiarization opportunities.

All room categories offer the same core inclusions, and staff are eager to accommodate special requests, from private dinners to in-room celebrations. With consistent service and strong trade relationships, Paraiso de la Bonita offers advisors an easy-to-book, high-satisfaction option for clients seeking restorative, authentic luxury on Mexico’s Caribbean coast.
