Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has confirmed it will open Rosewood Calistoga and Rosewood Residences Calistoga in 2027, expanding the group’s California footprint with a project that blends hotel, wellness, and residential components designed for affluent travelers and homeowners alike.

The 118-acre hillside estate is being positioned not simply as another wine country resort but as a “living ecosystem” where design, gastronomy, wellness, and ownership intersect. Rosewood intends to capture both leisure guests and second-home buyers who want turnkey access to Napa without sacrificing Rosewood’s global service standards.

With just 96 guestrooms, including 31 suites, alongside 20 private villas and 13 homesites, the scale is deliberately intimate, meaning that scarcity of inventory will be a critical selling point during peak harvest season, when demand for Napa accommodations typically outpaces supply.

The design, led by Atelier Marsh with inspiration from the late architect Ed Tuttle, is meant to feel more like a private Napa residence than a conventional hotel. Rooms and villas follow the natural ridgeline, with clean lines and materials drawn from the surrounding landscape.

Culinary programming is expected to be a key differentiator. Rosewood Calistoga’s “earth-to-table” ethos will be expressed through daily harvests from on-property gardens and collaborations with local growers, vintners, and artisans. Guests can expect not just restaurants but immersive opportunities such as vineyard dinners and hands-on cooking workshops.

Wellness will also be a driver, anchored by Rosewood’s Asaya concept. Six treatment rooms, hydrotherapy facilities, an outdoor garden, and dual pools will broaden the resort’s appeal beyond traditional wine-focused travelers. With more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, the property will also be able to host multi-generational gatherings, celebrations, and incentive groups.Rosewood Calistoga also continues the group’s push into key leisure markets worldwide. In the U.S., it follows recent announcements in Beverly Hills and The Raleigh Miami Beach, both slated for the next few years, while internationally the brand is growing with the recently-opened Rosewood Amsterdam, and forthcoming properties in Rome, Dubai, the Maldives, and beyond.
