Six Senses Kyoto has introduced a new three-bedroom penthouse suite, adding a top-floor, residential-style accommodation designed for extended stays, families, and small groups in the city’s Higashiyama district.

The secluded suite spans more than 2,500 square feet and is set at the top of the 81-key property, which opened as the brand’s first hotel in Kyoto. It is configured with two king bedrooms and one twin bedroom, each with an en suite bathroom, alongside a central living and dining area that opens onto a private terrace with city views.

The residential layout includes a kitchenette and a stocked pantry for in-suite dining, along with enough shared space to host private meals or small gatherings. The penthouse can also be combined with two adjacent deluxe rooms to create a full-floor buyout, including access to the rooftop lounge for private use.

Located in eastern Kyoto, the hotel is directly across from Myoho-in temple and near Toyokuni-jinja shrine, within walking distance of Gion and Nishiki Market. Kyoto Station is approximately a seven-minute drive, and transfers are available from Kansai International Airport and Itami Airport.

The design of the suite follows the broader hotel concept by BLINK Design Group, which incorporates Japanese folklore references and traditional materials into a contemporary framework. Interiors throughout the hotel draw on natural tones and textures, with details inspired by local craft traditions. In the penthouse, the result is a softer, more residential interpretation, with artwork and finishes that reference Kyoto’s cultural heritage without being overwhelming.

The penthouse is also set up to host private, in-room experiences, including cocktail and whisky workshops focused on Japanese spirits and incense-making sessions tied to traditional practices.

Wellness is integrated into the experience, as well; guests can access longevity programming, including treatments, meditation, and aquatic therapies such as Watsu. The broader wellness facilities include a dedicated spa, indoor pool, a biohacking lounge, and traditional Japanese bathing areas.

Rates for the penthouse start from $13,000 per night. The hotel also offers a two-bedroom suite as a smaller alternative within the same residential category.
