The St. Regis New York has unveiled its newly renovated guestrooms and suites, completing a sweeping transformation of the Fifth Avenue landmark that has also brought new looks to its lobby, King Cole Bar, and dining spaces.
Champalimaud Design led the accommodations overhaul, refreshing all 171 guestrooms and 67 suites with a design that draws heavily on the Astor family and the hotel’s Gilded Age roots. The project follows the debut of the redesigned public spaces in fall 2024 and completes the property-wide renovation.
“With the completion of our room renovation, we are proud to continue the next chapter of The St. Regis New York’s evolution,” said general manager Octavia Marginean-Tahiroglu. “The reimagined guestrooms and suites reflect the timeless glamour and personalized service that have defined the hotel for over a century, while offering a renewed sense of comfort and sophistication for our guests.”

The interiors take particular inspiration from Caroline Astor, whose fondness for emerald jewelry and the American Beauty rose influenced the hotel’s original aesthetic. The new rooms pair violet velvet upholstery and red accents with gold-tone brass and metal detailing, natural marble, and onyx. Custom furnishings include bronze-framed coffee tables with amorphous shapes and media consoles finished with decorative glass knobs, a subtle nod to artists associated with the hotel, including Salvador Dalí.
Redesigned corridors feature sculptural stone and metal sconces and carpeting inspired by phoenix feathers, chosen as a symbol of renewal. The hotel’s signature Butler Service is included with every stay, with services such as packing and unpacking, garment pressing, and welcome coffee or tea.
The latest work caps a broader overhaul that includes the revitalized lobby and King Cole Bar, as well as The Drawing Room and La Maisonette.
