Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has joined forces with Ovolo Group in a partnership designed to expand both companies’ footprint in the rapidly growing upscale lifestyle sector across Asia Pacific. The deal, announced today, July 29, will see five of Ovolo’s boutique hotels—spanning Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Hong Kong—join Wyndham’s global portfolio later this year.

Long known for its dominance in economy and midscale lodging, Wyndham is now making a play in lifestyle hospitality, an area that continues to capture younger and experience-driven travelers. Through this collaboration, advisors can expect greater global visibility and loyalty alignment for properties that were once niche, with Ovolo’s design-forward style now backed by Wyndham’s distribution and rewards infrastructure.

Importantly, Ovolo will retain ownership and management of its brand while leveraging Wyndham’s scale to pursue development throughout the region. “The future of travel isn’t about sameness—it’s about spaces with soul,” said Joon Aun Ooi, Wyndham’s Asia Pacific president. For Ovolo, this means growing without sacrificing its brand DNA, which fuses art, fashion, and music into urban stays that appeal to design-conscious guests.

Among the five properties joining Wyndham’s portfolio are Ovolo Central in Hong Kong’s nightlife hub; Ovolo South Yarra in Melbourne, an ode to 1970s glamour; and Ovolo Woolloomooloo, a waterfront icon on Sydney’s Finger Wharf. Each property will become part of the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program.

The partnership is also notable for its development potential. Wyndham has invested nearly $350 million in technology since 2018, giving independent lifestyle hotels like Ovolo access to robust platforms once limited to larger chains. Advisors booking Ovolo properties can expect smoother reservation systems, stronger global visibility, and consistent elite perks as the hotels integrate into Wyndham’s ecosystem.
