MSC Cruises is elevating its world cruise product with the introduction of its Yacht Club concept on the newly refurbished MSC Magnifica, sailing a 121-night itinerary in 2027. It marks the first time the line’s “ship within a ship” enclave will be offered on a world cruise, traditionally a volume-driven product.
The Yacht Club spans five upper decks and will include 63 suites across multiple categories, from connected balcony layouts suited to families to the Royal Suite, complete with a whirlpool and expansive terrace. Guests will have access to private dining, a sundeck with a pool and cabanas, and the Top Sail Lounge, featuring floor-to-ceiling views, an effort to carve out an insulated luxury tier within a large-ship environment.
Extended voyages, once dominated by heritage brands and smaller ships, have become increasingly mainstream. Demand surged in the post-pandemic years, with world cruises often selling out within months of their launch. By adding the Yacht Club, MSC is not only expanding capacity for this high-yield segment but also offering a differentiated product to attract travelers who want the scale and amenities of a large ship without compromising on privacy or exclusivity.
The 2027 sailing touches 45 destinations across 25 countries, with marquee experiences like a Panama Canal transit, overnight stays in Buenos Aires, Sydney, and Papeete, and scenic cruising through New Zealand’s Milford Sound. This itinerary design mirrors what competitors have emphasized: a balance of bucket-list cities with harder-to-reach ports, such as Aitutaki in the Cook Islands.
Enhancements to Magnifica extend beyond the Yacht Club. A fully reimagined Aurea Spa introduces panoramic saunas, a salt room, and new treatments, while the fitness center is rebuilt around Technogym’s latest equipment and dedicated studio spaces. Culinary upgrades bring two of MSC’s specialty concepts—Butcher’s Cut steakhouse and Kaito Sushi Bar—onboard for the first time.
Embarkations are set from Civitavecchia, Genoa, Marseille, and Barcelona in early January 2027.
