Viking has rolled out a new Wave Season promotion across its global portfolio, introducing the Viking Savings Event for bookings made through Jan. 31, 2026. The offer applies to select 2026–2028 itineraries spanning the company’s river, ocean, and expedition divisions, including voyages on all seven continents.
Under the promotion, North American guests can receive up to 35 percent off all-inclusive fares, with additional incentives that include up to free international airfare and a $25 deposit on eligible sailings. Returning guests are also qualified for added savings. The event is positioned as a limited-time booking window tied to early demand for future seasons, particularly for longer-range travel planning into 2027 and 2028.
The offer spans Viking’s complete operating footprint, which includes more than 100 ships sailing on 21 rivers and five oceans, with itineraries calling in more than 500 ports across over 85 countries. Eligible sailings include river journeys such as the 15-day Grand European Tour between Amsterdam and Budapest, Rhine Getaway sailings between Amsterdam and Basel, and Romantic Danube voyages linking Regensburg and Budapest. On the ocean side, the promotion also covers Mediterranean routes, including Barcelona to Rome (Civitavecchia) and Istanbul to Athens (Piraeus), as well as select expedition departures.
Viking’s structure—bundling shore excursions, onboard programming, and port charges into the base fare—means the savings apply to a broad portion of the total trip cost, not just the cabin rate. The inclusion of airfare incentives further lowers the barrier for long-haul routes, particularly for itineraries that involve complex international gateways such as Istanbul, Athens, or Budapest.
The company continues to position itself around small-ship operations, with vessels designed for access to ports and waterways that larger ships cannot reach. Its river fleet operates across Europe, Asia, and Egypt, while its ocean and expedition ships support itineraries in regions ranging from the Mediterranean and Northern Europe to Antarctica and the Arctic.
Viking enters 2026 following another year of industry recognition, including top rankings for both river and ocean cruising in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards and multiple category wins across Travel + Leisure, Cruise Critic, and U.S. News & World Report. While accolades remain secondary to booking performance, the timing of the Savings Event reflects an effort to convert early interest into longer-term inventory commitments.
The Viking Savings Event is available for new reservations made through Jan. 31, 2026, on select sailings scheduled between 2026 and 2028.
