Regent Seven Seas Cruises Bets on More Space and Fewer Guests
The Explorer Class ships will sail with 344 suites instead of 373, eliminating 29 accommodations per ship to make room for larger suites and new accommodation categories.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is reducing guest capacity aboard its Explorer Class ships as part of a major refurbishment program designed to deliver a more personalized luxury experience with larger, more luxurious suites.
Beginning with scheduled dry docks in 2027 and 2028, Seven Seas Splendor, Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Grandeur will each sail with 344 suites instead of 373, eliminating 29 accommodations per ship to make room for larger suites and new accommodation categories.
The changes are intended to create more space per guest while allowing Regent to further elevate the highly personalized service that defines the ultra-luxury brand.
“These enhancements reflect our commitment to continually raising the standard in ultra-luxury travel,” said Wesley D’Silva, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in a statement. “By reducing suite inventory, expanding accommodations and introducing new suite categories, we are creating an even more spacious experience at sea while strengthening the exceptional service that defines Regent.”

A centerpiece of the redesign is the expansion of the ships’ Veranda Suites, which Regent says will become the largest entry-level accommodations in the ultra-luxury cruise industry. The suites will increase from 307 square feet to between 415 and 464 square feet, while adding walk-in closets, double vanities and spacious private balconies.
The refurbishment will also introduce a new suite category to the Explorer Class fleet: the Horizon Penthouse Suites, which will first debut aboard the upcoming Seven Seas Prestige. Ranging from 616 to 722 square feet, the suites will feature oversized balconies, separate living areas and spacious bathrooms designed to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living.
Each ship will also welcome three new Distinctive Suites ranging between 821 and 918 square feet. Named the Explorer Suite, Splendor Suite or Grandeur Suite depending on the vessel, the accommodations will feature king-size Elite Slumber beds, expansive living and dining areas, one-and-a-half marble bathrooms and large private balconies.
Guests staying in the new suites will enjoy Regent’s signature luxury amenities, including personal butler service, in-suite caviar service, fresh orchid arrangements, cashmere blankets and a pillow menu.
The refurbishment program will begin with Seven Seas Splendor in November 2027, followed by Seven Seas Explorer in April 2028 and Seven Seas Grandeur in October 2028.
The investment underscores Regent’s continued focus on maximizing space and exclusivity rather than increasing capacity, reinforcing its position in the ultra-luxury cruise market through more spacious accommodations, fewer guests and a higher level of personalized service.
